Afew months ago, TiVo announced it was expanding the TiVoToGo service to support the latest generation iPod with video (Apple iPod 5G) and Sony PSPs (Playstation Portables). The significance of this action means TiVo is expanding its media format support beyond Microsoft media formats.
The charm of this new addition to the TiVoToGo service is that TiVo is taking out the need for third-party software or home-brewed hacks to transfer TiVo recordings to a portable device that works with non-Microsoft media. This new TiVoToGo feature promises to handle the direct transfer of TiVo recordings to these popular mobile devices.
