How To Get 10000 Hits Daily Part 3

How to replicate the 10,000 Hits A Day system.

You will need a website host (free or paid) and an autoresponder capable of creating webpage forms. If you do not already have a web hosting service you can get free hosting at www.freewebs.com. Get a free autoresponder at www.freeautobot.com. (Instructions below.)

The next step is to go to the following pages and chose your favorite template to save to your computer:

www.askchane.com/10khits.htm

www.askchane.com/10khits2.htm

www.askchane.com/10khits3.htm

www.askchane.com/trafficmonster.htm

Pick the one you want then just click on ‘View’ from the toolbar, then ‘Source’ from the drop down menu and save as ‘index.htm’. After saving this page to your computer you will have to view the source code and delete the code for my autoresponder, replacing it with the form code generated by your autoresponder.

The next step is to upload your replicated page to your web hosting service. This is the page you will target in the 20 start page exchanges that you have set up in the Avant Browser. However, don’t do this until you have received the information in my next email, as you will need to use my series of four emails to set up your autoresponder, merely changing my URLs and personal information to yours.

You will gather leads from your autoresponder that will have the name and email address of all those who complete and submit the form and you will gather referrals to your hit page for all those who opt to replicate this method and join your exchanges under your referral URLs.

To Increase your traffic with this system, grab yourself a free account at Subscription Rocket and build yourself a mailing list just by simply adding a couple lines of code to your site: www.askchane.com/subscriptionrocket

Go to free hosting at www.freewebs.com. Sign up. Log in and click on Site Manager. Then click on “Add a Page’ and name it ‘index.htm’. Under ‘Filename’ you should see ‘index.htm’. Click on ‘Edit’. This is were you will paste the code you want for your visitors. Once you have pasted the HTML code, click on ‘File’ and then ‘Save’ and your page should now look like this:

www.freewebs.com/yourname/index.htm

Tomorrow: How to put it all together.

How To Get 10000 Hits Daily Part 1

If you take the time to set up my simple system you will receive a steady flow of traffic to your site for many years to come.

This is the how I get 10,000 Hits A Day to my website for free:

This is the first in a series of four installments which will explain not only how to earn credit from 20 traffic exchanges at the same time, but also how to use this extra traffic to generate leads and referrals. Be sure to save all four to your computer. The next four installments will show you how to:

1. Generate credits on 10 traffic exchanges.
2. Generate credits on the next 10 traffic exchanges.
3. Generate leads and referrals by replicating the 10,000 Hits A Day system.
4. Put it all together.

Below is a list of the first 10 different start page exchange programs that I currently use:

1. Nine Mile Hits
www.ninemilehits.com

2. Traffic Roundup
www.trafficroundup.com

3. Traffic Syndicate 25
www.ts25.com

4. Hit Safari
www.hitsafari.com

5. Traffic Pods
www.trafficpods.com

6. Deep Sea Hits
www.deepseahits.com

7. Start Xchange
www.startxchange.com

8. Mystical Maze
www.mysticalmaze.com

9. Webmaster Quest
www.webmasterquest.com

10. I Love Clicks
www.iloveclicks.com

Here is how you can use all of these programs at the same time:

1. Go to www.avantbrowser.com or www.crazybrowser.com and download their free browser. These browsers each have the ability to open multiple sites and windows inside a single browser. They can handle multiple monitors and have tab status indicators. Annoying pop ups can be removed automatically and multiple pages can be saved and reopened together.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Below I will refer to the browser you have downloaded as Avant Browser. However, if you have downloaded and prefer Crazy Browser, please use that instead.

2. Now click on all the links above to join these programs. If you’re already a member of some of these programs you can just use the URLs you already have. When you join these programs make sure to save all the URLs - both for your start pages and for your referral links!

3. Avant Browser has a feature that allows you to save any combination of URLs as individual groups. In the address line, copy and paste your surf/start page URL for Nine Mile Hits and press the Enter-Key, Nine Mile Hits surf page is loading. Now pen a new window & copy and paste the surf/start page URL of Traffic Roundup into the address line; again press the Enter-Key and Traffic Roundup will load in a new window. If you want to go back to the first window, click on the tab to the left. Use the tabs at the top of the page to navigate where you want to go.

Now enter all the remaining surf/start page URL s in new windows. Don’t forget to press the Enter-Key after you’ve typed in the URL. After you finished entering the 10 programs, click on the main menu “Groups” and then click on ‘Create New Group’. A windows file window will open, give your group a name, e.g. 10000 hits-1 and click on ‘Save’.

4. After you have this set up, you can start Avant Browser and simply click on the saved group in the menu bar from the drop-down menu under ‘Groups’. When the pages finish loading, you can just click on the next tab to go to the next page and begin clicking for hits!

5. If you have a slow connection and/or not very powerful computer, opening ten pages at the same time may be too much. If this is the case, try fewer pages until your computer is running smooth enough to load all of the pages. I highly recommend getting a high speed connection if it is at all possible. Internet life is much better that way.

6. Avant Browser is able to block Flash Animations, Pictures, Sounds, and Videos which can save you up to 95% of your bandwidth. These options can be found in the Tools menu.

Using this method with a cable connection I can generate 900 hit credits in a little over 1 hour. You can set your own target according to your connection speed and time limits. Even without any referrals, working 10 traffic exchanges at once using this method allows you to generate a large amount of traffic. Add the traffic you can generate by sharing this method with referrals and we’re talking major streams of free traffic.

Tomorrow: Setting up the next 10 traffic exchanges.

Why You Need To Sell Ebooks From Your Website

Advantages of Selling from Your Website

1. You get to improve your daily business cash flow. The Booklocker for example, pays royalties every month. When you receive royalties from Mightywords and most of the other eBook sellers, you usually get paid quarterly. Some eBook sellers only pay you semiannually. I like instant gratification, don’t you?

After all, that is why your readers are downloading your eBooks. They want instant gratification, too. By having your credit card processor deposit money into your business bank account every day, you get instant gratification with each and every sale. This is a great motivator.

2. Your personal website allows you to collect address information of each customer. Once you sell your customer their first eBooks, they are more apt to purchase more eBooks. You collect their e-mail addresses and send them updates. If you are a public speaker as well as an author, you can invite them to hear you speak when you are in their area. You are a celebrity.

3. Collecting data on which kinds of eBooks are of interest to your website visitors will increase your income. I found that by tracking my page hits, I could find out what information my web visitors were interested in and what kinds of eBooks they would actually purchase.

You can set up on-line forms, messages boards, and forums that allow your visitors many reasons to go back to your website. As your web visitors develop confidence in you, they will be more encouraged in placing orders with you.

4. You can offer free updates and information to your readers and distribute that information inexpensively with a website. Having a website is a very low cost proposition. I spend less than $100.00 per month when I include my website costs as well as having two different credit card processors.

When I had an office in Scottsdale, Arizona my costs were almost $1200.00 per month. Now I get so much more for 10 % of what I use to pay and never have to leave my home.

5. You can set up “secret” places on your site that you charge a subscription fee for people to enter. You can have levels of newsletters for example. You can send out a free one and offer a more advanced newsletter or content site on your website that give the reader a great deal more.

You can set up this area to be password protected. Once the reader pays you the subscription fee, permission is granted to enter and download your unique information.

6. Offer free classes and fee classes to your readers. This is a variation of the above point number five. Free classes will allow the reader to get to know your style. Web visitors will be more apt to buy from you or take additional on-line classes, training or telephone consulting.

7. You can offer virtually unlimited text and graphics in describing your eBooks. You can record your voice and give author readings from your website. Many times I have found that the author reading was the key factor in getting the eBook sale.

8. You Can Realize A Greater Return on Investment. Even during the best of economic times, no one eBook seller or eBook publisher will be able to reach all of the eBook buying markets. When you offer eBook selling from your site you get instant feedback on what is working and what is not. You can experiment with offering “specials” that will instantly affect your bottom line sales and profits. Even though operating your own site can be a great deal of work, you can sell a ton of eBooks and keep a bigger chunk of each and every sale.

9. You can react quicker in the Market Place. For example, let’s say a new company called YouandI eBooks comes out with a new software program that compresses video, sound files, and graphics in such a way that your file size never gets over 200k. That will allow you to create eBooks that are full multi-media productions. File size will not be an issue. You will be able to instantly offer a tremendous product to your all of your readers. Maybe the other booksellers and eBook publishers that are selling your eBook have no interest in formatting and using that product. So you can generate a large number of sales by offering it through your newsletters and your website.

I personally sell more eBooks from my site than any combination of all of the other eBook sellers I use put together. People want to obtain their material right from the source if they can. You are the source.

10. You can offer your own affiliate program. With your own website you can offer your own sales affiliate program. Affiliate programs are the reason why Amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com do so well selling on the Internet. For more information about offering Affiliate Programs, go to:

clickxchange.com/
www.linkshare.com/

You may purchase Affiliate Program Tracking Software to start your own affiliate program, track purchases and pay commissions by browsing to Marketingtips.com.

www.marketingtips.com

11. Join an existing Affiliate Program. You may want to associate with other big names and other authors by joining sales associate and affiliate programs like Barnes & Noble.com and Amazon.com. Visitors see major booksellers’ logos and search engines on your website and overcome their fear of ordering from you when they notice brands they are familiar with. It appears that the bookstores are endorsing you! You can feature authors and books that are similar to yours. If someone purchases those books and you have an affiliation agreement set up with an Internet bookseller, you will receive a commission.

Even if you do not want to create the links back to Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble.com, join their programs anyway. There are Internet Marketing techniques that they share with affiliates that will be located on the corresponding affiliate program pages.

This information is very valuable. You will find links to other places you can post your eBooks as well.

Where do I purchase my website?

Ask people you know who are happy with their websites.

I have listed some reputable website hosts in the resource section or later articles and on this website at:

www.eBook-marketing.com

What do I look for when I purchase my own website?

The following are features you want to insure a great eBook selling website:

1. Toll free technical support. You need this because problems will happen. Its best to get 24/hour 7 day per week toll free service.

2. You need your own domain. A domain is a name you pick like freetosell.com or huas.net. Pick one that is simple for your readers to remember. The shorter the better. For example, barnesandnoble.com added the following domain names to their Internet bookseller. They added “bn.com” and “books.com”

3. E-mail boxes. These are unique e-mail addresses that will have your domain name as the home address. For example: f2s@ huas.net or anythingIwanttowrite@huas.net

4. You want a large number of Autoresponders. Autoresponders are one of the oldest and by far the best marketing tools you can have regardless of what Internet product or service you offer.

Autoresponders work like fax-on-demand systems. Visitors go to your website and notice that they can receive a free chapter of your eBook by clicking on a link. When the visitor clicks on the link, a e-mail software client opens with visitor’s address as the recipient and your e-mail address as the sender.

The visitor clicks “send” in the e-mail client and in a minute a free chapter is sent to the visitor’s inbox.

This is much faster then air delivery. The autoresponder document is delivered with lightning speed. You can load a sample chapter of your book along with complete ordering instructions. You can deliver your newsletters, press kit, articles, or just about any other text information very quickly. You do not have to be present when your reader requests the information.

My host, Godaddy.com gives me unlimited autoresponders for one monthly charge.

5. You want to be able to access daily statistics. You need to track how many web page views. You need to know the number of visitors you receive daily, weekly, and monthly. I know hosting services that don’t allow you to receive daily statistics. Make sure you ask for this feature before you contract for a web hosting service.

6. You want to be able to administer your website, such as checking daily statistics and changing individual pages from any computer in the world. While you are at the Writer’s Conference in Maui learning more about your craft or lying on the Maui beaches, celebrating your good fortune, you may want to check your new orders or add some new products. Make sure your web host allows you access to statistics. Offering a “hit counter” is not enough. You should have very detailed web statistics.

7. You want T-3 line connections by your website host to your website. T-3 lines are fast data transmission lines. Most hosts now use T-3’s.

8. Microsoft FrontPage Extensions support. If you author your Website in Microsoft FrontPage, the extensions will allow you to create interactive forms. Now your website visitors can answer questions on line and give you immediate feedback and marketing information.

9. You want 100MB of storage. I have around a thousand pages on my website and don’t come near that 100MB limit. However, when you add sound files, (your author interview or readings on-line) book covers, and video down the road, you may find that you really do need that much storage. Get more than you need now and you will grow into it.

10. You need support for e-commerce. Many websites now will make provisions for adding on your own store. A store is basically an order button or a shopping cart system that provides for a secured access page on your site. You will still have to apply for your own Merchant Account or a Merchant account processor. I have more information about that and direct links to those sites located in Chapter Seven.

How do I design my website?

Look at other sites that sell eBooks. Check out their index pages. Index pages are the default pages you view when you enter the URL into your browser. Find a site that loads quickly and you can read the information clearly. You may want to copy that design.

A good index page or home page should load at 4.6 seconds at 28.8 speed. Additional pages on the site should be smaller than 40k in size.

Most of my pages are 10k or less in size.

Do I have to learn HTML in order to have a website?

Yes, you will need to know some HTML. You can purchase an HTML editor program like Microsoft’s FrontPage. Look for an editor that claims it is a WYSIWYG editor.

WYSIWYG is an acronym for what you see is what you get. FrontPage looks like Microsoft Word. It will have the same menus and page set up.

As you are typing in the content of your page, HTML is created underneath the document. There is a tab you can select and you can view the HTML and make changes. I would recommend a WYSIWYG HTML editor program to begin your website project.

Learn how to create links in HTML and to create “Bold” and “Italics” text. You need to know how to create paragraphs. You will need this skill when you are adding eBook commentary to Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com.

I have a nephew who is a website designer. Should I use him?

I would only use him if he will sit you down and teach you what he knows about web design. Web design can make your site look pretty, or web design can be profitable. Most sites opt to look pretty and most of these millions of websites on the Internet make absolutely no money at all.

A web designer is interested in making the site look great. Most designers don’t have a clue as far as how to bring people to your site and purchase your products.

Also, many times I hear Internet marketing consultants say, “if you don’t want to spend money designing a site, have your 15 year old kid do it.”

Well, if your 15-year-old kid is the top salesman for Realty Executives, Nationwide Insurance, or Johnson and Johnson Medical Products, than yes, I would agree.

Internet website design is all about SALES and very little about design. Remember that 99.9% of all business sites are losing money by having their own website. These are websites that are usually professionally designed by an official web designer.

You can do a great deal better by learning sound Internet marketing techniques and applying those techniques with a simple web design.

What do I need to bring lots of visitors to my site?

The following seven elements are necessary for you to bring visitors to your site.

1. A fast loading home page. It should load at 4.6 seconds with a 28.8bps modem. If you design your home pages and view it with a 56K modem or a cable modem, you will be not be looking at what most of your paying customers are looking at.

Speed decreases over distance due to many technical issues but the one thing to remember is, design your speed to the lowest modem speed available.

Keep away from black backgrounds. The color black is a composite of all of the colors of the rainbow. When someone selects a black background every single pixel or picture cell on your monitor has to be painted, with every single color available.

This takes time. Look at search engine websites. They all have white backgrounds. White, being the absence of all color will help your page load quickly.

Don’t put any photographs or banners on your home page or index pages. If you must have them, place them on separate pages and link them with a text link to your index or home page.

Keep all of the text on your index page above the “scroll line.” Only 30 % of your viewers will look below the scroll line on an index page.

2. Create “Meta tags” for your index pages and all of the pages you create on your site. There is a free website listed that will make Meta tags for your site and send them back to you through your e-mail. Meta tags include information about your site that is classified and used by search engines when people conduct keyword Internet searches.

Here is a brief course: Click on the following website.

www.wayneperkins.net

When you are there, look at your tool bar at the top of your browser and look for VIEW. Then click on VIEW, and PAGE SOURCE, or it may say SOURCE or HTML.

You may want to print this out. You are printing the “PAGE SOURCE” or the HTML.

Now lets look at the META tags.

You will find the following html text near the top of the page.

<head>

<title>Hypnotism Education: How To Hypnotize Yourself On The Internet, Wayne F. Perkins, Hypnotherapist</title>

<meta NAME=”keywords” CONTENT=”how to hypnotize, hypnosis, hypnosis bookstore, self-hypnosis, autogenics, books, eBooks, instruction, training, hypnotism forum, fear, phobia, hypnotist, autogenics, bookstore, eBooks, hypnotherapist, digital books, virtual books, rocketbook, softbook, Wayne Perkins”>

<meta NAME=”description”CONTENT=”Hypnotism Education is a site created by Wayne Perkins, Hypnotherapist Free self-hypnosis training and hypnosis scripts for students, largest hypnosis bookstore.”>

</head>

Between the <head> and </head> html tags you will see the <title> </title> html tags.

Just below title but still within the <head> element of the home page you will see a Meta tag called <keywords> and one called <description> and one called <classification>

If you are writing a mystery eBook. Your Meta tags will look something like this:

<Head>

<Meta name=”description” content=”this is a mystery story eBook by author John Doe that takes place in the Western United States in 1880 titled The Strange Cowboy Murder”>

<meta name=”keywords” content=”mystery book, eBook, western united states, The Strange Cowboy Murder, 1880 Western America, John Doe, author, cowboys, western lore, stories”>

</head>

NOTE: Use the format with all of the quotation marks and < signs exactly how I placed them. You can use either upper case or lower case lettering in your <tags> Use both upper and lower case in your <key words> and

<description> tags.

The end of the <description> tag always ends with “>

Search engines and directories many times look for these tags in classifying their sites. No tags, no classification.

Now you are going to learn the <keywords> tag. At the end of the keywords tag it will always end with “>

You may have up to 1500 characters in your keywords.

Notice in my example I have several words or phrases separated by commas. Your keywords are anything that appears between those commas, A key word can be a single word or a series of words. Do not use the same word more than 3 times in your keyword section. Search engines may dump them out. They call it, “spamming the page.”

After you are finished with the <keywords> and <description> tags, you can end the whole series, with the </head> tag. This means you have finished the <head> section of the home page or index page.

If you have several pages on your site, each one should have its own <description> and <keywords> tags. Search engines will now find more ways for people to find you.

Your name and book title should be included in the <keywords> tag and the <description> tag.

You can find additional Meta tag instruction at:

www.searchenginewatch.com

3. Start A Free Newsletter. You need a free newsletter to give your visitors a reason to come back often to your website. When your readers subscribe to your newsletter you can include national or international updates in your field, advertising about your eBooks and other interesting information about your eBook genre.

Free newsletters are a great way to obtain repeat buyers. There are websites that will “host” your free newsletter. Some are listed in later articles.

If you are too busy to create your own newsletter, make an agreement with another webmaster to place a subscription button on your website, in exchange for a link back to yours or free advertising in his newsletter. You will be giving your readers more content and the other webmaster more people interested in visiting his site.

4. Begin and maintain an ongoing link exchange program. Your site will not be popular right away. Most websites only get 50 or 60 hits a month in the beginning. Every time you go and look at your site, that counts as a hit. So if you look at your own website once or twice a day, you have accounted for your 50 or 60 hits per month. One way to begin with a bang is to start a link exchange program.

Begin by searching for free information that applies to your book’s subject or genre. Search on Yahoo and other major search engines. When the top 10 search returns come up, send e-mail to the webmasters at each of the websites listed and ask if they would like to add sample chapters of your eBook to offer their readers on line.

In return you need to include the URL of your website, or the specific link to your eBook on Mightywords, 1stbooks
Library, the Booklocker, or Barnes & Noble.

The order URL on your website and on Mightywords.com will experience a rapid increase in the amount of hits.

You will benefit by getting orders. It is easier to get your information published on other high visibility websites than it is to lure everyone over to your website.

Every week conduct additional searches on keywords that you feel other people would use that are interested in your subject and send more content offers to other websites.

You may even offer to publish your eBooks in serial form.

Serial form means that the other websites receive sample chapters each month in return for links to ordering information on your website.

Readers get your eBook little by little. If it looks good, readers will purchase right away rather than to have to wait several months to read the entire book for free.

This is one of the most profitable ways of using your time on the Internet. You won’t have to spend any money on marketing if you keep up this program. You will help websites stay up high on the search return list of major search engines, and the people that do arrive on your site are there for one purpose…to purchase your eBooks!

5. Offer credit card processing for your orders. Without credit card processing, you won’t survive. You can either obtain merchant status with a merchant account or you can have a merchant account processor do the work for you. I actually use both. I love the merchant account processor that processes on-line and in real-time. You don’t need to send them any financial information and you are accepted immediately. CCSLIDE is located at:

www.ccslide.com

They are included in later articles.

Also, you will want to sign up with as many eBook resellers to offer your eBooks as you can find. They will reach markets that you may never find. They will also accept credit cards and perform the entire order fulfillment for your customers.

6. Autoresponders are a requirement! You need autoresponders for your site. Each autoresponder can contain an eBook chapter and ordering information. If you want to see how they work send e-mail to:

autoresp@wayneperkins.net

You will now experience the advantage of using autoresponders.

The e-mail will arrive in your e-mail box within a few minutes. My website host, Valueweb provides me with 500 separate autoresponders for free when I pay them my $19.95 per month for my website-hosting fee.

You can also find free autoresponder host sites that will give you autoresponders even if you have no website. Now that your first eBook is finished, you should sign up for free autoresponders and start giving webmasters the autoresponder addresses so you can deliver free chapters of your eBook. I will list some free autoresponders sites in Chapter Seven.

7. Study and implement website changes every week. Search engines know which websites are changing content on a regular basis. Websites are not static telephone book advertising. The more often you change your site, the higher your site will be mentioned in the search returns for that topic and that is what will make your site popular. Most corporate websites change very little or not at all.

Corporate directors usually don’t realize that a website is a function of sales, marketing and customer service. Since websites have something to do with computers, most corporate directors dump the job in the hands of the IS Department rather then the Sales, Marketing and Customer Service departments.

This may explain why corporate websites perform poorly and are a major disappointment.

How To Publish Your Ebook In One Day

Now you are going to learn my 5-Step method in publishing your first eBook.

Here is my quick 5-Step Method of publishing your first eBook. You will publish your first eBook within a few hours of reading this chapter.

Does this sound exciting? I think so. Let us begin!

Step One: Create a document on your computer. How big should the document be? Lets start out with 5-25 pages.

The document could be one of your best speeches, a food recipe, a short story or a step by step instruction like a “how to book” with behavioral objectives in mind.

Step Two: Save your document as a Microsoft Word document, an ASCII text tile, or an Adobe Acrobat PDF file.

Step Three: Connect to the Internet and go to Mightywords.com at www.mightywords.com.

Register on Mightywords.com and read the directions on how to post your wonderful eBook to their website. If you want to upload your eBooks as Adobe Acrobat PDF files and you do not want to purchase the software yet, you can follow the links on Mightywords that will lead you to a free Adobe formatting site. Look for a section that says “Writers Corner” and you will find free access to Adobe On-line where you can format a limited number of eBooks for free. The link to free Adobe formatting is at:

cpdf1.adobe.com/

You can format a few eBooks for free and/or subscribe to formatting un-limited files for only a $9.99 per month subscription fee.

You can also purchase the Adobe Acrobat Software at any computer software store and most Internet bookstores. I purchased my Adobe Acrobat Software right from Fatbrain.com, which is the parent company for Mightywords.com.

The address of Fatbrain.com is:

www.fatbrain.com

Step Four: Follow Mighty Word’s directions about adding pricing and commentary. Check out their on-line eBook store to get an idea of what categories your eBook may fit. You will be assigned a password and you can always edit the eBook content at any time. Mighty Words.com will also ask you where to send your quarterly royalties.

There is a very small charge for storage of your eBooks on Mighty Word’s server.

Step Five: Now think about how you will spend your new revenue stream. Breathe deeply…now find more on-line eBook sellers that want you to publish on their websites!

Congratulations! You are now an official eBook author.

You will find a wealth of eBook publishing resources including other eBook sellers like Mightywords.com that really want you to sell your eBooks!

Simple wasn’t it? Now let us effectively market your eBook over the World Wide Web.

Step 10. Become Popular

The Traffic Snowball needs to become linked with others to pick up REAL momentum.

A recent check at linkpopularity.com showed that Yahoo has over one million links sprawled across the web. That’s a lot of links. And while reaching that milestone at your site may seem impossible, it is important to at least grow your links regularly.

The number will have a direct affect on your website traffic in many ways. Here’s an example… Lately I’ve noticed a steady increase in visitors coming to my own site from search engines. But not just the major search engines. Many newer search engines are now directing fresh traffic to my site too. New subscribers to my newsletter have reported finding my site through newer engines.

But why? It’s been a long time since I really put much effort into my search engine ranking.

Well after a little research, my findings pointed directly to one explanation… “Links.” At many search engines, new and old alike, the number of quality links you have into your site plays a key role in their relevancy algorithms. In a nutshell, the more sites you have linking to yours (preferably related sites) the higher your site will rank in their returns.

Power of reciprocal linking is growing and is sought after as the new medium of advertising.

You should set up a Links Page with link access from your homepage, and promote your specific Reciprocal Links Page URL address in all the major search engines. (This way everybody wins). By setting up a reciprocal links page it will help you to get a better listing in the search engines the more links you got coming to your page the popular it becomes so you want as many people linking to you as possible and if you promote your links page you will gain more traffic and increase more links to your site.

With each member promoting each other’s websites, you create a tremendous amount of leverage for minimal effort, and your websites traffic will increase dramatically! This method also gets higher rankings with some Search Engines. Many of the different Search Engines spider your web pages looking for other sites linking to yours. The more sites these spiders find linking to your web site the more popularity ranking your web site gets. This will get you a higher ranking positioning when people search the web.

If you have a lot of links to your web site, the robots will find you faster and more often, as they travel the Internet. They will spider your pages more often and they will believe your site is more popular than the others. This will also automatically submit your pages to search engines, with you never having to do that chore again, once you have the reciprocal links pointing to you. This will put you near the top of their listings.

Zeus Internet Marketing Robot is an automatic reciprocal link generator! One good reciprocal link can give you the same traffic as a major search engine and, with a Zeus robot, you are able to have thousands of reciprocal links. Its an easy-to-use, intelligent, Internet marketing robot that builds a search link directory and creates reciprocal links for your web site. A totally new concept in generating web traffic, this revolutionary software product has features and benefits that enable it to create traffic to your web site.

Zeus Internet Marketing Robot - Automatic Reciprocal Link Generator and Link Directory Creator

Step 1, Use Your Name To Be Noticed

Lets start by giving the Traffic Snowball a name.

The starting point with every website is the domain name and now there is a wider choice than ever with the introduction of NEW domains (.info & .biz)

So what is the difference and which do you choose?

Basically, for the moment .com still rules. If you are not using “.com” address, then you are losing your hard earned visitors. Everyone remembers “.com” before “.net “, it’s that simple. Even most web browsers, if the extension is not entered, will default to “.com”.

A credible and serious business must have its own domain name that is relevant and appropriate to the nature of the business. For example let say the business is “Johns Widget Store” A first and natural choice choice would be johnswidgets.com.

However, you do not need to register ONLY one domain name. You can register as many as you want and point them to the same web content (we’ll come back to this point later)

For example, you can LOAD the domain name with “keywords” which are relevant to the nature of the website.

By registering “KEYWORD RICH” domain names you are going to help skyrocket your search engine rankings! (That’s right just by using keyword saturated domain names you can drastically improve your search engine rankings… really it’s that easy!)

“Keyword Phrases” are now a HOT opportunity… a catch phrase alone can generate a giant source of traffic to your website.

Why? - Because it is catchy!

Not only are these phrases catchy but they can also boost your search engine rankings. Search engines love url’s that are saturated with keywords!

So, think of all the keywords and keyphrases for your product/service/website and put them in your URL.

Load the domain name with your best keywords to get ranked higher in the search engines. Then have it redirect to your main site or use it as a “doorway” page (as we talk about later in the article) to get a much higher ranking in the search engines to forward traffic to you.

Here are example URL’s that will pull great in the search engines ……

www.computer-discount-software-store.com, www.computerdiscountsoftwarestore.com

Notice that I gave the above example with hyphens and without hyphens… it is a little known fact that search engines prefer URL’s with hyphens and visitor prefer them without so make sure you register both!

Also there are the country code domains. For example a url ending in .co.uk would be a first choice for businesses operating in the UK.

As general rule of thumb it would be wise to buy both the .com and the country domain to start. There are only a few companies that are registering the 67 character domain names, and even fewer that are reliable companies. When you come to register your domains (s), you should consider using a domain registration service with at least the following facilities:

- Real-time modification of web forwarding
- Real time modification of url masking

Its important that if you are going to register a few domains for the purpose of creating doorways to your main site that you have the ability to forward the domain using an interface and you are able to modify this at any time in real time.

Some companies provide the forwarding free of charge and may also include a masking service which would be useful for keeping the new domain name visible in the browser whilst serving content from the redirected domain name. URL masking could be used for a variety of purposes but its important that there is a facility to add META tags to the masked domain name.

A domain service that provides URL masking with meta tags would be preferable than using one that provides only standard redirection as the masked domain will be more sensitive to search engines.

What Is Traffic Snowball

Building traffic to your website can be compared to creating a snowball.

Imagine standing at the top of a snow covered hill, picking up a handful of snow and rolling it into a snowball, then putting the snowball on the ground and pushing it down the hill.

The snowball requires a little push at first, maybe a few times to get going but as it moves down the hill it collects snow and begins to grow in size.

The bigger it gets, the faster it moves, picking up speed getting bigger and bigger.

By the time it reaches the bottom of the hill the snowball is so large that it is almost unstoppable.

This snowball effect is a good analogy for Website Traffic Building.

Let me explain.

OK so we’ve slaved over the “hot computer” and created the beautifully crafted, “everyone will love it” website, proudly shown to family and friends and we are now ready to show it to the world and “go live!!”

We upload the website and wait for the people to arrive in droves.

“Build it and they will come” - good title for a film, but when it comes to the Internet

“Build it, do nothing and wait for ever!” is more appropriate.

In other words its as if we have made a snowball and left it at the top of the hill, walked down and waited for the snowball to magically arrive at the bottom as an unstoppable force.

Forget it!

We need to give the little guy a push - a few shoves to get him going. We need roll him along a bit ! Support him and tease down that long journey to the bottom. But when he gets going watch out below!

The same is true with website traffic.

We need to put into place all the different methods and techniques that will start to bring traffic to the website, but most of all create a system so that the traffic will feed of itself until the website becomes an unstoppable traffic guzzling monster!

So lets start at the top……..it begins with a name…….

You Have To Have Links

Slowly but surely, links are where the traffic is!

Link popularity and link relevancy, have become the most important factors in determining whether you show up on page 1 or page 1,000 of the search results.

Requesting links is tedious, boring, and too closely resembles work! But you have to do it… if you want to get any traffic from the search engines, that is.

Stay away from the shortcuts on this one because they’ll cause you more harm than good. Spend the time finding sites that have a lot of links pointing to them and that get a great deal of traffic.

Each time you convince a decent site to link to your website, you stand to gain more visitors to your site, as well as a nice boost in the ranking of your site on the search engines.

As more and more sites link to you, you’ll see your search engine traffic start to increase because they will view your site as being more important.

Think about it: What if every site that links to you sends you 10 visitors per day. Find just 10 of those and you’ve picked up another 100 visitors per day…FREE!

Burn a little midnight oil and get that number up to 100 sites, and you now have 1,000 visitors a day sifting through your site!

Keep in mind that some links won’t bring you any traffic at all, and others will send one here, and one there. But these add up over time, so don’t dismiss a site because you don’t think you’ll get thousands of visitors from it.

Another reason I stress finding your own link partners rather than using some of the “5,000 links a day” programs is that the latest search engine trends are to rank the sites that link to you.

It’s not the quantity, but the quality that counts!

This means that 10 sites that have 100 sites linking to each of them is better than 100 sites with only 10 sites linking to them.

Basically, the search engines give a higher weighting to sites that link to you that are also popular themselves. There are many more factors in determining the popularity of a site, but you can typically use this as a good rule of thumb when searching out partners.

This makes sense because if an important site likes your site enough to link to it, then the search engines will like it too.

This is called Link Relevance, or Link Importance. Where Link Popularity merely counts the number of incoming links to your website, Link Relevance attempts to actually rank each of those sites that are linking to you.

By the way, the best tool I’ve seen out there for finding important sites to request links from (those that have many incoming links to them), is called Internet Success Spider by Neil Shearing.

You can either choose to enter in the URL of a popular site, or enter in search keywords that your target audience would search for. When the Spider is finished crunching, it will give you a list of sites, sorted by number of incoming links, that you can then contact and request a link from.

This can save you many, many hours of wasted time requesting links from lesser important sites, and allows you to focus on only the ones that will increase your website’s link relevance. You’ll also stand a good chance of getting a quite a bit of traffic through from these sites.

Internet Success Spider can save you a ton of time and allow you to build partnerships that can be worth many, many thousands of dollars.

I’ve used it to find a number of great affiliates for my affiliate program. In fact, one wonderful lady I discovered using the Spider software jumped onto my top 10 affiliates list in less than a week after I contacted her!

Use it to find out what sites are linking to your competitors, or that link to high ranking sites, and then contact them to see if they will link to yours as well.

Create some mini sites

An inexpensive and not-too-time-consuming option is to create several mini sites, and link them to your main site.

Mini sites are great at getting top rankings on the search engines because they are typically very focused on a particular topic, which the search engines like.

If you spend some time learning the steps to creating successful mini sites, you can get a quite a bit of traffic from them, while also increasing the link popularity of your main site.

The best resource by far on this subject is Phil Wiley’s “Mini Site Profits” ebook. If you understand the profit potential of mini sites, you’ll make sure you have Phil’s ebook in your library!

Setup a few of these sites and you can quickly start to see a large increase in traffic to your website, as well as more sales from the targeted visitors. (The extra sales should easily cover the small expense of Phil’s ebook)

A little creativity goes a long way

There are many different strategies that you can use to get more links to your website. In fact, i can recommend one of the ebooks named Website Traffic System with the topic “131 Link Building Strategies”.

I highly recommend that you put some effort into this because nothing else you do will give you as much long term rewards for your time.

One thing that I learned (another one of those “Why didn’t I do this earlier!”) is that for some sites it works better if you create a graphic of some sort for others to link to you with. I had always offered up a text link to people that added their affiliate program to my directory.

I rarely received links this way! I know that you would think people wouldn’t want a graphic on their site, but I found that when I created a few graphics and then told them they could use the graphic to link to me, the number of sites linking to me increased very quickly!

This may not work for your type of site, but I give this as an example to show you that you need to keep an open mind and be willing to try different methods.

I can’t stress enough the importance of getting lots of links!

Choose Your Keywords Wisely

How do I know which keywords to target?

The most important task you will have is determining which keywords you should target on any given page of your website.

I say “any given page of your website” because you should optimize each page individually. Each page on your site needs to be able to stand on its own as far as ranking for keywords on that particular page.

This enables you to bring in visitors on many different keywords and keyword phrases instead of just the few that your home page will be optimized for.

I don’t recommend simply copying and pasting each page and then modifying the content. You should take the time and start each page from scratch.

This enables you to better optimize each page for the keywords you are hoping to target. You want to try and take full advantage of the potential traffic you can get by having many ‘doorways’ into your site.

The more doors you have, the more traffic you can get. View each page as a new ‘doorway’ into your site through which Web surfers can enter.

Although your first instinct will be to go with more popular terms such as music, marketing, or cars, you should narrow the scope quite a bit.

Some reasons for not optimizing your pages for these types of keywords are:

1) They are too broad - If your website is about Rap music, would you want to attract thousands of Country music or Gospel music fans? Even if you are tempted to answer ‘yes’ to that question, you should say ‘no’. These visitors won’t be interested in your music, and will quickly leave in search of a site that fits their interests.

2) Too much competition - You will have a much more difficult time getting a high ranking on the search engines when you use these more general and more popular terms because you will have literally millions of websites all trying to get the same spot you are.

3) Too much time and effort involved - If you decide to try and compete with the other millions of webmasters out there trying to get into the top 25 or so listings, you’ll spend an awful lot of time trying to get there, and spend even more trying to keep your position!

I’m sure your next thought will be: “Okay, I’ll go for Internet Marketing, or Rap Music, or Used Cars!”

Well, that does narrow things down a bit, but these phrases will still have a ton of competition.

The better (and more profitable) approach is to search for keywords and keyword phrases that meet both of the following:

1) Popular - They are searched for by a lot of people

2) Have little competition - It is so much easier to get a high ranking (and stay there!) when you target keywords that have little competition.

The key to success with the search engines is to find keywords that many of your potential customers are searching for, but that few of your competitors are optimizing for.

How in the World do I do that?

The absolute best resource you’re going to find online for finding keywords that fit the above criteria is: WordTracker

They offer a free trial, and if you need to have access to the more advanced reporting features, or would like to research other search engines not offered in the trial, you can subscribe to their service for a small fee.

The trial will work just fine, but if you decide to get serious, this will be the best money you spend. Each time you add a new page to your website you should research the best keyword phrases and optimize that page for them.

Since this is such a valuable resource, and because this part of your search engine strategy is so important , I’m going to give you a quick tutorial (complete with screen shots!) of how to use WordTracker to find the best keywords.

Obviously you’ll need to have a general idea of what the subject of your website is, or is going to be, and then click here to go to the WordTracker website.

Once there, find and click on the Trial link. You will then be asked to enter your name and email address to start your trial. (They will send the results to this email address, so make sure you enter a valid address.)

Make sure you check the box to get the weekly Top 500 Keywords report! This is a very useful email that you’ll get once a week that will show you the most popular keywords for that week.

Then you’ll see the following:

wordtracker

For this example I’ll enter in “marketing” and click Proceed, which will then bring up a list of related keywords and phrases:

wordtracker

You will have a left window and a right window, and when you click a keyword it will display the results in the right window.

By clicking on marketing, I get this result in the right window:

wordtracker

This list gives various keyword phrases with the word “marketing” in them, and sorts them by number of searches.

What you will then do is click on a few of these keywords to add them to your basket (don’t worry, this will make more sense after you’ve gone through it once.)

After you’ve added a few of these keywords to your basket, click the link to move to Step 3.

This step gives you some choices that are only available in the full version, so just click the link to go to Step 4.

Step 4 is where you’ll find the good stuff!

wordtracker

The important information on this page is the KEI Analysis. This gives each keyword a rank based on how popular the keyword is, and how much competition it has.

A low score means that either not many people search for the keyword, or that there is too much competition for it.

The amount of competition is determined by searching for each keyword on the selected search engine, and finding out how many sites come up in the results.

What you want is a good mixture of popularity and competition … or lots of popularity and little competition!

If you look at the scale just above the table in this graphic you will see what KEI numbers will mean you have found a good keyword or keyword phrase.

In this example it appears that I didn’t find any good keyword choices.

But, another search I ran found these:

wordtracker

As you can see in that list, there are a few terms that have a very high KEI ranking. This means that these would be good keywords to target because they have a good ratio of popularity to competition.

This is exactly what you are looking for when trying to find the best keywords to target for your website or for individual pages on your website.

When you choose keywords that are popular and that have little competition, you’ll be able to quickly get your site into the top results for that keyword.

The following articles will show you what you must do to make sure you take the right steps to take advantage of the great keywords you discovered during the above process.

Edit : These is a new upgrade from Wordtracker that gives more accurate results. If you find that you liked Wordtracker, you should try KeywordSpy.

Introduction

The question that I’m asked most often by my customers and subscribers is:

“How do I get more traffic to my website?”

And whenever the subject of search engines comes up, it’s quickly followed by:

“But how can I get a good listing in the search engines when they keep changing the way they rank sites?”

Well, there are many ways to get traffic, and the good news about search engines is that they don’t change the way they rank sites that often.

What changes is that they put in better ways of catching those that try to trick and spam them.

For example, if you have an illegal adult site and you’re trying to get it to show up when people search for “mortgage information”, the search engines will figure this out and will probably ban your site.

As long as you play by their rules, you don’t have to worry about this happening to you. I know there are some horror stories out there on this, but for the most part if you play your cards right you can expect to get traffic from the search engines for a long time.

Some examples I’m sure you may have heard about are:

1) Put popular search terms in your Meta Tags (even if it has nothing to do with your site.)
2) Place many, many keywords at the bottom of your page and change the font color so that visitors don’t see them.
3) Purchase software that will greatly inflate the number of links to your site.

This is just a small sample, and I’m sure at one point these tricks actually worked, but the search engines eventually figure this out and put in special exclusions for sites using these methods.

Because so many people subscribe to these theories, many will have you believe that search engines are really not even worth your time and effort when promoting your website.

To put it simply: Yes they are!

The long-term, targeted, and in most cases FREE traffic generated by the search engines just cannot be overlooked.

It does take time to get listed, and even longer to get listed well. But once your site is listed and is listed well, you can expect a steady stream of targeted visitors for many months to come.

What may really shock you is that it is not that difficult to get a great listing in the search engines … and to even get listed well for great keywords.

It doesn’t happen overnight, and you can’t just push a button and expect to magically appear at the top of the listings, but it can be done.
