Competitive Analysis Software

Some tools collect the ad distribution rate and rank details of competitors byrandomly pinging Google. I have not extensively used these products, but I do think they are interesting. Two of these products are:

* AdArchiver is a rather inexpensive competitive analysis tool. (www.adarchiver.com)
* AdGooroo is a way more expensive, but it graphs the data and gives you tips on how to adjust bidding. (www.adgooroo.com/)
* Google AdWords API (www.google.com/apis/adwords/)

Fraud Prevention Software

* Who’s Clicking Who (www.whosclickingwho.com/)
* Click Auditor (www.keywordmax.com/click_auditor.html)

* FindWhat (www.findwhat.com)
* Kanoodle (www.kanoodle.com)
* LookSmart (www.looksmart.com) 􀃅 I think their traffic quality sucks (or at least it did for me when I tried them in November of 2004).

Aggressive SEO Tools

Some of these tools may risk getting your site banned.

• Free: Cooperative Ad Network … this essentially amounts to a huge link farm, but it is blended in with many sites that are well integrated into the web. Eventually it may somehow be filtered out or lessened in power, but currently it is rather powerful. I currently am not using this ad network on any of my sites, but feel it is worth mentioning. (www.digitalpoint.com/tools/ad-network/)

• $50 per month: LinkItForward is similar to the Coop Ad Network in that it uses the power of many sites to help them all. Instead of reciprocating links with LinkItForward you link to some domains and for doing that get credits where others will link to your domain. I currently am not using LinkItForward on any of my sites, but feel it is worth mentioning. (linkitforward.com/)

• Articlebot – creates multiple copies of semantically sound copy from a single original article. I have not yet used Article Bot but have heard good reviews. I plan to interview the maker of this software soon. (www.articlebot.com/)

• Traffic Equalizer – scrapes search results and creates pages from them. By default it likely leaves some footprints. (www.trafficequalizer.com/)

• RSS Equalizer – creates static pages out of RSS feeds (www.rssequalizer.com/)

• Fantomaster – high end cloaking software. I have not yet used cloaking software, but Fantomaster has a reputation for being the best in the business. (fantomaster.com/)

Link Building Tools

Link building is perhaps the most time consuming part of the SEO process. The tools listed in this section have saved me no less than hundreds of hours of time.

• Free: Hub Finder – tool looks for co occurring backlinks. (www.andyhagans.com/tools/hubfinder/)

• Free: Prog - free Google PageRank display search tool. (www.seochat.com/seo-tools/pagerank-search/)

• Free: Rusty Brick’s link analysis tool. Works with the Google API and offers C block IP and anchor text reporting. Since it works with the Google API it is somewhat slow, but it is free. (www.rustybrick.com/link_analysis.php)

• Free:: Class C IP checker tool checks for duplicate class C IP addresses from a list of domains. Links from sites which are on the same C block IP address may not carry as much weight as sites from different C block IP addresses. (www.ip-report.com/)

• Free: PostTrades unique C block backlink checker. In the upper right corner of the PostTrades website is a tool which will tell you the number of unique C block IP addresses pointing links into your site. Tool works by looking that the IPs in the first 1000 backlinks in Yahoo!. If you have over 1000 backlinks then the tool may not provide accurate results. (www.posttrades.com/)

• Free: Unique Linking Domain Checker – returns links to all unique linking websites that link at your site. (www.555webtemplates.com/backlinks-tool.asp)

• Free: Unique C Block Backlinks Checker – allows you to quickly survey how competitive a market is by seeing how many C blocks are linking at competing websites. (www.webuildpages.com/cclass/)

• $224: Optilink link analysis software. Optilink automates sorting competitotrs backlinks and displays the anchor text in links. (www.optitext.com/)

• $167: SEO Elite – similar to Optilink, but also checks reciprocal link partners. Brad has been doing a good job of updating it and adding features to it. If you are torn between OptiLink and SEO Elite I would recommend buying SEO Elite, or trying them both and returning whichever one you do not like. (seoelite.com/)

• Free: PRWeb – free press releases. I often recommend purchasing one of their premium services though. (www.prweb.com)

• Free: List of places to submit articles (www.seobook.com/archives/000099.shtml)

• Free: Server header check (www.searchengineworld.com/cgi-bin/servercheck.cgi)

• Free: (Directories) www.wowdirectory.com will list your site free, www.directoryarchives.com is a directory of directories, and here is a free Excel sheet www.seobook.com/directorylist.xls for managing some of your directory submissions. I update the directories list frequently.

• Free: Roboform saves your data and makes it easy to enter payment and site listing information. Useful for massive directory registration, though you still need to ensure you mix your linkage data. It may also be in your best interest to space out some of your registrations to show more natural appearing linkage growth. www.roboform.com/

• Free: Cooperative Ad Network … this essentially amounts to a huge link farm, but it is blended in with many sites that are well integrated into the web. Eventually it may somehow be filtered out or lessened in power, but currently it is rather powerful for MSN and Yahoo! (and to a lesser extent Google). I currently am not using this ad network on any of my permanent sites, but feel it is worth mentioning.

• $50 per month: LinkExplore helps you collect contact and linking details to trade links with people who have site details in the LinkExplore database. The LinkExplore database has over 10,000 entries and you can search by keyword and category. LinkExplore also allows you to collect data from the search engines similarly to how SEO Elite and OptiLink work. One of the benefits of LinkExplore over some of the other link analysis tools is that their database already has a number of people in it who are likely to want to trade links with similar related resources. (www.linkexplore.com/)

• Arelis: link exchange software. It allows you to seek out link partners, their contact information, and email them. I would make sure I customized any email I sent out so as to avoid being accused of email spamming. Arelis also tracks your status with link exchange communications. Arelis also allows you to upload HTML pages with your link partners links on them, but I would not recommend using that feature on permanent sites, or ensure I removed any footprints left by software which is designed specifically for link exchanges. It lets you chose the base template to match your site, but you will want to make sure the coding matches up well also. When you exchange links it is a good idea to also link to related internal pages and quality resources that may not be linking back at your site. (www.axandra-link-popularity-tool.com/)

• $175: Zeus is a link exchange manager / directory software similar to Arelis. Both offer a free trial. I have not fully tested Zeus, but I would not put pages with link exchange software footprints on my site. (www.cyber-robotics.com)

General SEO Tools

There are many various tools which help make the job of SEO quicker. These are some of my more commonly used tools. All the tools in this section are free.

• FireFox browser – browser allows tabbed browsing, which saves a ton of time when I am looking at about a half dozen sites at the same time. (www.mozilla.org/products/firefox)

• Digital Point keyword ranking, backlink, and PageRank checker – I use this tool to view my position for various websites in Google, Yahoo!, and MSN. It also helps me hypothesize some of the ways they may have changed their algorithms. (www.digitalpoint.com/tools/keywords)

• Yahoo! Tracker – tracks keyword rankings in Yahoo! (www.webmaster-gadgets.com/ytracker/)

• Xenu Link Sluth – finds broken links on your site, and helps you build a sitemap. (home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html)

• Free Meta Tag Generator – helps you create the code for your page title and meta tags (www.search-marketing.info/meta-tags/make-meta.htm)

• The Google Toolbar – good for highlighting keyword density and doing many things like giving you a quick glimpse of a cached copy of a page and its backlinks. (toolbar.google.com/) If you are doing lots of exceptionally aggressive promotional techniques it may be unwise to install any toolbar distributed by a major search engine since it will help them track and cross reference your sites.

• GoogleBar (for Mozilla) – used on non internet explorer browsers. (googlebar.mozdev.org/)

• GoogleBar Hack (for Mozilla) – used to show PageRank on the GoogleBar. (www.prgooglebar.org)

• Top25Web PageRank lookup – shows PageRank of any page you input. (good to use when the toolbar is broken) (www.top25web.com/pagerank.php)

• Books I found helpful toward learning web marketing and website design. (www.search-marketing.info/literature.htm) some of these books on this site are affiliate links.

• Office application. Things like spreadsheets make life much easier as an SEO. I use MicroSoft Office sometimes (office.microsoft.com/) and sometimes I use OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org/). Either will probably work for most jobs.

Keywords Selection

Doing SEO effectively starts with finding the right words, phrases, and ideas to target.

• Free: Digital Point keyword suggestion tool – free web based tool which compares Wordtracker and Overture search frequencies. (www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/)

• Various Prices (approximately $7 / day to $250 / year): WordTracker – web based leased product which has many more features than the other tools. WordTracker traffic is generally more representative of actual traffic than Overture’s tool since many fewer automated bots scour its data collection network than Overture’s. (www.wordtracker.com)

• Various prices: Keyword Discovery - deep database of keyword data. Contains historical data. Some of their partners made them sign a non disclosure agreement. The database may not be as clean as the WordTracker database, but it does contain more data. (www.keyworddiscovery.com/)

• Free: Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool – offers search frequency for the prior month throughout the Overture network. Please note that many bid checkers and other automated bots cause this number to skew high. (inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/)

• Free: Google Keyword Sandbox – shows related search terms but not search quantity. (adwords.google.com/select/main?cmd=KeywordSandbox)
• Free: Google Search Suggestion Tool – auto-completes search queries to help you find more related search terms (www.google.com/webhp?complete=1&hl=en)

• Free: Google Sets – shows groups of related keywords. (labs.google.com/sets)

• Free: Good Keywords – free downloadable software which can be used for preliminary keyword research. (www.goodkeywords.com)

• Free: Ontology tool – finds related keywords using the Google ~ search. (www.gorank.com/seotools/ontology/)

• Free: Competitors websites and related search suggestions from various search engines such as Vivisimo and Teoma.

SEO Forums

The ability to gain near real time answers to your SEO questions makes SEO forums extremely valuable. I have my opinions about which ones are best, and likely you will have your opinions about which ones you will like best.

A good forum has a good sense of community, but different SEO forums have different goals. Generally I support the fact that good SEO is generally making good ideas that would want to spread and / or gaining a large quantity of links into a website. The forums that allow open discussion of and support effective SEO ideas are my favorite.
You will learn a bunch of your SEO knowledge from personal experience, but forums will also help speed along the learning cycle.

Free: Review of and links to most of the major SEO forums (and many smaller ones too). Most SEO forums are free also. (www.seobook.com/archives/000161.shtml)

How To Get 10000 Hits Daily Part 4

Before you can put everything in place you will need one other tool - a site rotator. You can get a free one which will allow you to rotate UNLIMITED sites at the first traffic exchange you signed up at:

www.ninemilehits.com.

Login to your account and under ‘Codes’ you will see ‘Your Site Rotator’. That is the link that will rotate all of the sites you have listed in the ‘Websites’ area. You can use this link to promote anywhere and everywhere.

The rotator is to allocate your hits among the sites you would like to promote. Put the URL of your 10,000 Hits A Day site in the rotator along with any other sites you would like to promote with your traffic exchange credits. Then copy and paste the rotator URL into all of the traffic exchanges. I suggest until you acquire a lot of referrals for your traffic exchanges, that you allocate most of the hits to your rotator 10,000 Hits A Day page.

To put everything in place, first copy each of the emails you have received from me, changing my URLs to yours and replace my name with yours. You can also change the wording as you like to suit your taste, so long as you keep all instructions intact. Then set up your autoresponder to send the four emails in the sequence I sent them to you, one day apart. Make sure you have uploaded the 10,000 Hits A Day page to your web hosting service. All this being done, you can then “turn the system on” by:

1. Making your rotator page the target of all your start page exchanges and allocating all or at least a majority of hits to your rotator page to your 10,000 hits page URL.

2. Surf for hits with your start page programs in Avant Browser as often and to the extent your time allows. You should be able to accumulate 5000+ hits per week, without any referrals by doing this. With referrals, the possibilities are endless really.

3. Once you have attracted a sufficient number of referrals to your start page by teaching others the 10,000 Hits A Day method I’ve presented to you, you can cut back on your traffic promotion and concentrate more effectively on promoting your business opportunities.

How To Get 10000 Hits Daily Part 3

How to replicate the 10,000 Hits A Day system.

You will need a website host (free or paid) and an autoresponder capable of creating webpage forms. If you do not already have a web hosting service you can get free hosting at www.freewebs.com. Get a free autoresponder at www.freeautobot.com. (Instructions below.)

The next step is to go to the following pages and chose your favorite template to save to your computer:

www.askchane.com/10khits.htm

www.askchane.com/10khits2.htm

www.askchane.com/10khits3.htm

www.askchane.com/trafficmonster.htm

Pick the one you want then just click on ‘View’ from the toolbar, then ‘Source’ from the drop down menu and save as ‘index.htm’. After saving this page to your computer you will have to view the source code and delete the code for my autoresponder, replacing it with the form code generated by your autoresponder.

The next step is to upload your replicated page to your web hosting service. This is the page you will target in the 20 start page exchanges that you have set up in the Avant Browser. However, don’t do this until you have received the information in my next email, as you will need to use my series of four emails to set up your autoresponder, merely changing my URLs and personal information to yours.

You will gather leads from your autoresponder that will have the name and email address of all those who complete and submit the form and you will gather referrals to your hit page for all those who opt to replicate this method and join your exchanges under your referral URLs.

To Increase your traffic with this system, grab yourself a free account at Subscription Rocket and build yourself a mailing list just by simply adding a couple lines of code to your site: www.askchane.com/subscriptionrocket

Go to free hosting at www.freewebs.com. Sign up. Log in and click on Site Manager. Then click on “Add a Page’ and name it ‘index.htm’. Under ‘Filename’ you should see ‘index.htm’. Click on ‘Edit’. This is were you will paste the code you want for your visitors. Once you have pasted the HTML code, click on ‘File’ and then ‘Save’ and your page should now look like this:

www.freewebs.com/yourname/index.htm

Tomorrow: How to put it all together.

How To Get 10000 Hits Daily Part 2

By now you should have completed the installment of Avant Browser with the first 10 hit exchange programs. The next step is fairly simple. Just join and install the next 10 traffic exchange programs the same as you did in Part 1:

1. Viral Express
www.viralexpress.com/newuser.php?ref=chane

2. Hit Pulse
www.hitpulse.com/jsp/index.jsp?ref=chaned

3. Cash Clicking
www.cashclicking.com/join.php?ref=chane02

4. Traffic Swarm
www.trafficswarm.com/go.cgi?13680

5. Clickin Fingers
www.clickinfingers.com/?refid=2623

6. 123 Clicks
www.123clicks.com/members/chane02

7. Clicks Matrix
www.clicksmatrix.com/index.php?ref=chane

8. Pro Hits Plus
www.prohitsplus.com/newuser.php?ref=chane

9. Jack Ten Forty
www.jacktenforty.com/tm?refid=11860

10. Viral Visitors
www.viralvisitors.com/cgi-bin/join.cgi?refer=11299

Join these 10 traffic exchanges and insert your surf/start page URL into Avant Browser. If you’ve already joined one of these programs, use the surf/start URL you already have. You don’t need to join the program twice. Here is a list that I’ve compiled of the Top 50 traffic exchanges: askchane.com/traffic.htm - This list is updated regularly so you will want to book mark it for reference. You can use this list if you feel like you need more or different ones. I suggest just using these 2 groups for awhile. But, eventually you will want to get your site seen on as many different exchanges as possible.

Remember: Insert your surf/start URL’s into the address line, one after each other, do not forget to press the Enter-Key after insertion of your start URL.

After all the programs have loaded, you will have 10 tabs. Now save your installment. Click on “Groups” then on “Create new Group”. Save it under a name convenient for you, I would suggest “10,000 hits-2″.Close your Avant Browser and open it again. Click on “Groups” then on “10,000 hits-2″ or whatever name you have chosen. All 10 tabs will open and load the traffic exchanges.

That concludes today’s lesson. It was easy, wasn’t it?

Tomorrow: How to replicate the 10,000 Hits A Day system.

How To Get 10000 Hits Daily Part 1

If you take the time to set up my simple system you will receive a steady flow of traffic to your site for many years to come.

This is the how I get 10,000 Hits A Day to my website for free:

This is the first in a series of four installments which will explain not only how to earn credit from 20 traffic exchanges at the same time, but also how to use this extra traffic to generate leads and referrals. Be sure to save all four to your computer. The next four installments will show you how to:

1. Generate credits on 10 traffic exchanges.
2. Generate credits on the next 10 traffic exchanges.
3. Generate leads and referrals by replicating the 10,000 Hits A Day system.
4. Put it all together.

Below is a list of the first 10 different start page exchange programs that I currently use:

1. Nine Mile Hits
www.ninemilehits.com

2. Traffic Roundup
www.trafficroundup.com

3. Traffic Syndicate 25
www.ts25.com

4. Hit Safari
www.hitsafari.com

5. Traffic Pods
www.trafficpods.com

6. Deep Sea Hits
www.deepseahits.com

7. Start Xchange
www.startxchange.com

8. Mystical Maze
www.mysticalmaze.com

9. Webmaster Quest
www.webmasterquest.com

10. I Love Clicks
www.iloveclicks.com

Here is how you can use all of these programs at the same time:

1. Go to www.avantbrowser.com or www.crazybrowser.com and download their free browser. These browsers each have the ability to open multiple sites and windows inside a single browser. They can handle multiple monitors and have tab status indicators. Annoying pop ups can be removed automatically and multiple pages can be saved and reopened together.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Below I will refer to the browser you have downloaded as Avant Browser. However, if you have downloaded and prefer Crazy Browser, please use that instead.

2. Now click on all the links above to join these programs. If you’re already a member of some of these programs you can just use the URLs you already have. When you join these programs make sure to save all the URLs - both for your start pages and for your referral links!

3. Avant Browser has a feature that allows you to save any combination of URLs as individual groups. In the address line, copy and paste your surf/start page URL for Nine Mile Hits and press the Enter-Key, Nine Mile Hits surf page is loading. Now pen a new window & copy and paste the surf/start page URL of Traffic Roundup into the address line; again press the Enter-Key and Traffic Roundup will load in a new window. If you want to go back to the first window, click on the tab to the left. Use the tabs at the top of the page to navigate where you want to go.

Now enter all the remaining surf/start page URL s in new windows. Don’t forget to press the Enter-Key after you’ve typed in the URL. After you finished entering the 10 programs, click on the main menu “Groups” and then click on ‘Create New Group’. A windows file window will open, give your group a name, e.g. 10000 hits-1 and click on ‘Save’.

4. After you have this set up, you can start Avant Browser and simply click on the saved group in the menu bar from the drop-down menu under ‘Groups’. When the pages finish loading, you can just click on the next tab to go to the next page and begin clicking for hits!

5. If you have a slow connection and/or not very powerful computer, opening ten pages at the same time may be too much. If this is the case, try fewer pages until your computer is running smooth enough to load all of the pages. I highly recommend getting a high speed connection if it is at all possible. Internet life is much better that way.

6. Avant Browser is able to block Flash Animations, Pictures, Sounds, and Videos which can save you up to 95% of your bandwidth. These options can be found in the Tools menu.

Using this method with a cable connection I can generate 900 hit credits in a little over 1 hour. You can set your own target according to your connection speed and time limits. Even without any referrals, working 10 traffic exchanges at once using this method allows you to generate a large amount of traffic. Add the traffic you can generate by sharing this method with referrals and we’re talking major streams of free traffic.

Tomorrow: Setting up the next 10 traffic exchanges.
