15 Reasons to Become an Affiliate Marketer

There are HUGE benefits to promoting affiliate programs with your own home-based Internet business…

1. No Production Costs - The cost to develop and produce a new product is prohibitive for almost anyone who wants to start a home-based business. With affiliate programs, production costs aren’t an issue. The product has been developed and proven - all on the merchant’s nickel.

2. Low Cost Set-Up - Compared with building a brick and mortar store, starting a home-based Internet business is relatively cheap. You probably already have a desk, Internet-connected computer and word-processing software, which is all the equipment you may need.

3. No Fees for Joining or Licenses to Buy - I often compare doing business as an affiliate, with distributing a line of products in the real world. The biggest difference is that the distributor must often pay for a license to distribute products within a limited geographic region. Affiliate programs, on the other hand, are usually free to join, and geographic market reach is limited only by the affiliate’s ability to promote his web site.

4. Choose From Thousands of Products and Services - What isn’t sold online? That list must be shorter than the one describing all that IS sold online. There are thousands and thousands of affiliate programs selling every product under the sun. That makes it easy to find products related to your current or planned web site.

5. No Sales Experience Needed - When I started my affiliate business, I had absolutely no sales experience. That wasn’t a problem, however. The companies I affiliated with provided excellent marketing material. Using their sales copy, I was able to get my first affiliate site up in less than a day.

6. No Employees - The largest expense of most businesses is employee salaries. Although there might be times when you need or want someone to work for you as an affiliate, it’s doubtful you’ll ever have to worry about hiring full or part-time employees. When you have a project you want to hire out, it is easy to find specialists in every computer-related field who can work for you from the comfort of THEIR own homes. You pay only for the project, and never have to worry about ongoing employee-related benefits and deductions.

7. No Expensive Merchant Accounts Needed - Setting up a merchant account for any business is a time-consuming and costly business. It’s even more tedious for Internet businesses. However, merchant accounts aren’t a concern when you’re an affiliate. The merchant bears that cost and handles all processing of payments. You never have to lose sleep over potential chargebacks, fraud or losing your merchant account when you’re an affiliate.

8. No Inventory to Carry - Even if you live in a small one-bedroom apartment, as an affiliate you can sell large items without storage concerns.

9. No Order-Processing - Forget the problems associated with collecting and storing names, addresses, credit card numbers, etc. The merchant does all that!

10. No Product Shipping - The cost and hassle to prepare and ship products to customers worldwide could be staggering. Affiliates never have to worry about packaging supplies or postal rates.

11. No Customer Service Concerns - Do you hate the prospect of dealing with nasty people or customer complaints? Don’t worry about it! The merchant handles the snivelers.

12. Make Money While You Sleep - What other business allows you as a sole proprietor to keep your doors open and keep making money even when you take breaks or after you go home for the night?

13. The World at Your Doorstep - The Internet is the world’s largest marketplace. You can drive more visitors to your online store in a day, than many small-town merchants see in in a year.

14. Minimal Risk - The product you chose isn’t making money? Dump it. Take down your links and promote another! It’s that easy. There are no long-term contracts binding you to products that don’t sell.

15. High Income Potential - If you have a job, your salary or hourly wage is probably pre-determined. Maybe there’s not much, other than working overtime, that you can do to increase your income. With your own affiliate business on the Internet your income potential is limited only by your desire, effort and imagination.

Getting Started

In this part I’ll tell you what you need to set up your online resale business.

What you absolutely must have to run a resale business is a web site and a domain name.

It’s obvious… if you don’t have a web site, how are you going to make your products available for download, or accept credit card payments from your customers?

So, first you should find yourself some space with a web hosting service.

There are many hosting services online, and they all offer different prices, but I personally use Bizland to host all my web sites. For a small monthly fee ($5.95 at the time of writing), you can have a Charter account, with 200 MB of web storage. That’s more than enough to get started.

If you select the Value Option you get a massive 500 MB, plus you also get your own domain name. This can be interesting because then you don’t have to pay for one, and your domain name will automatically be directed to your web host.

You can also use a free web hosting service if you want, but I don’t recommend it. You will not have all the tools and extra services like FTP-access, enough bandwith, CGI-scripts, multiple email addresses, guaranteed uptime and live support, etc. with a free hosting.

You should also stick with a real domain name.

Or how professional will you look to a potential customer when he sees a link like:

It shouts… “I AM AN AMATEUR!”

These days, domain names have become affordable for everyone, and that’s why you should have one.

You can already get a domain name (just like mine: ebooks- made-easy.com starting from $8.70 at: www.godaddy.com

Here are two other reliable services:

cheap-domainnames.com
www.000domains.com

Go for a “.com” or “.net” domain as these are the ones that
are picked up first via the search engines. Also choose a name that appeals to your business.

A good name could be “resalerightsprofits.com”. -At the moment of writing this name was still available. I may in fact register it for myself.

If you expect to have your website for a while, you can usually save out by registering for multiple years at once.

Next to your web site and domain name you’ll need a payment processor to accept payments online.

Many marketers use Clickbank to handle all their credit card and cheque payments.

I’m not going to explain here how the service works, but you can read all about it in the “Working With Clickbank” Ebook, it is free for download.

You can also use Paypal to accept online payments. Paypal is widely used by millions of users, and makes it easy to send and receive money through your email address.

The next thing you need is an autoresponder.

Every successful online marketer will tell you that a reliable autoresponder service is absolutely necessary so that you can continue to contact people over and over again, and expose
them to your offer/product.

Most people need to see your message at least 7 times before they trust (and order from) you.

In fact, I would rank this higher than getting a web site because you can have people send an email to your autoresponder address and they will be plugged into your opt-in list.

From that list you can just send endorsements for new resale rights products and make sales.

I know many people who make six figures online just from email marketing with autoresponders.

The great thing about having an opt-in list is that you can use your mailing list over and over again.

As your list grows, so will your profits.

With a mailing list you are able to send out multiple mailings to promote affiliate programs, new products, special reports and Ebooks, etc.

And because a mailing list is “ready-to-go” at any time you need it, you can cash in on all the fresh opportunities that come along before the rest of the world gets wind of it…

Here’s the autoresponder service that I use. It allows you to set up multiple accounts, so you can build several lists, without paying for a new account.

Let me give you an example that just happened to me last week. On a Thursday afternoon I got an email from a business friend who had written a new special report that he sold with resell rights included.

The report was about Ebook marketing, and I knew that quite a few people would know about it by Monday.

So, what did I do?

I bought the reprint rights, uploaded the ready-made web page that came with it, setup my ordering link and sent out a simple and short mailing to my list.

The entire process from the time I received the email to the time I sent out my own mailing was less than 30 minutes.

Many subscribers on my list ordered the report from my web site, and I made $280 in just a few hours.

Orders continue to come it at the time I am writing this, because I set up the same email message on my autoresponder system.

Do you see how important having that mailing list is?

You can do the same thing yourself…

Write an eCourse or a special report about the subject of your business and give it away via a pop-up form on your web site.

The key is to provide VALUABLE information (kind of like what you’re receiving in this article).

If you provide your readers with useful content, then you’ll find that many browsers will turn into buyers.

Why? Because they recognize that you know what you’re talking about.

They see that what you are explaining to them really works and is understandable.

Bottom line: When you help others, they help you.

You need to give away something valuable first to capture leads and build your list.

TIP: If you don’t know how to write a high-quality report, I recommend Profit Pulling Reports. It’s a complete report that walks you through EVERY STEP of the process (including how to write that very first sentence).

In the next part I’ll explain what to look out for when you buy an Ebook package so that you don’t loose any money, and why it’s good to sell a high end product.

The inside of a computer is a bad place full of electricity and sharp edges. On de electricity side always when workin’ on you computer make sure that it’s still plugged in to de power socket and de power is turned off, this is to ensure that any static From you is discharged through de earth. The inside of most computer cases are unfinished metal and has very sharp edges so be careful.

The first signs of a battery failin’ are:-

1) your clock starts runnin’ slowly
2) when you boot (start) your computer it has a problem findin’ your hardware (no hard drive, no cd rom)

To change de battery you need de followin’ tools

1) a X-point screwdriver
2) an anti-static strap(optional)
3) a new battery (seems logical)

Then unplug all de cables from de back of de computer as you remove them make a note where dey came from. (So when you finished you can put them back)

Move de computer somewhere where you can work on it with ease

Remove de cover by locatin’ de screws around de outer edge (back) of de computer. Some computer cases only require you to remove 2 screws on one side den a panel can be removed allowin’ you access to de computers insides, oders you must remove 6 screws and remove de whole case by slidin’ it to de rear and liftin’ it off.

Now make sure that you read de safety instructions about static. Look inside you will see a round silver thin’ that looks about de size of a 10p piece (quarter). This is de battery itself, carefully lift de retainin’ clip and slide de battery out. That’s it removed now go to your local computer retailer, electrical retailer (Tandy/Radio shack) takin’ de old battery with you and get a new battery.

Back to your computer insert de new battery by liftin’ de clip and slidin’ de battery in.

Reinstall your case and plug all de cables back (you did remember to label them didn’t you)

Now for de fun part.

You will now need to go into you bios.

Right de bios is de god of your computer.

To access it, when your computer first starts you will see a black screen with white text.

If you look carefully you will see a line that says somethin’ like “press del for setup” or some oder key (F2 or ESC or tab) this will take you to god’s house where you can make lots of changes to de way your machine works.

It is also de place where you can make your nice computer in to a rader expensive door stop so be careful and don’t go playin’ with anythin’.

You will now be presented with a blue screen with a lot of options on it. The one we want is load optimised/default settin’s.

Press de F10 key and type y de computer should now reboot.

If every thin’ went well den your computer will now be up and runnin’.

Anoder way of solvin’:

Keep computer runnin’. Lay it on it’s side and remove side cover to expose moderboard. Take any thin object, “small screwdriver, knife point, wood shiskabob skewer. Pull back de battery retainin’ clip. Toss de old battery in de junk recepticle, unless you belon’ to greenpeace and want to save de earth. Install de new battery. No need to reset bios becasue de compter supplies voltage to de cmos while it is runnin’. Reset or resync clock with internet. Done!

Getting Older Programs To Run With Windows XP

Most programs run properly on Windows XP. The exceptions are some older games and oder programs that were written specifically for an earlier version of Windows. To run your program on Windows XP, you can try de followin’, Run de Program Compatibility Wizard. As an alternative, you can set de compatibility properties manually. Update your program, drivers, or hardware. These options are covered in detail below.

The Program Compatibility Wizard
This wizard prompts you to test your program in different modes (environments) and with various settin’s. For example, if de program was originally designed to run on Windows 95, set de compatibility mode to Windows 95 and try runnin’ your program again. If successful, de program will start in that mode each time. The wizard also allows you to try different settin’s, such as switchin’ de display to 256 colors and de screen resolution to 640 x 480 pixels. If compatibility problems prevent you from installin’ a program on Windows XP, run de Program Compatibility Wizard on de setup file for de program. The file may be called Setup.exe or somethin’ similar, and is probably located on de Installation disc for de program. To run de Program Compatibility Wizard click Start, click Help and Support, click Find compatible hardware and software for Windows XP, and den, under See Also in de navigation pane, click “Program Compatibility Wizard.”

Set de compatibility properties manually
As an alternative to runnin’ de Program Compatibility Wizard, you can set de compatibility properties for a program manually. The settin’s are de same as de options in de Program Compatibility Wizard. To set de compatibility properties for a program manually Right-click de program icon on your desktop or de shortcut on de Start menu for de program you want to run, and den click Properties. Click de Compatibility tab, and change de compatibility settin’s for your program.

The Compatibility tab is only available for programs installed on your hard drive. Although you can run de Program Compatibility Wizard on programs or setup files on a CD-ROM or floppy disk, your changes will not remain in effect after you close de program. For more information about an option on de Compatibility tab, right-click de option and den click “What’s This.”

Update your program or drivers
If your program does not run correctly after testin’ it with de Program Compatibility Wizard, check de Web for updates or oder fixes, as follows:

Check de Web site of de program’s manufacturer to see if an update or patch is available.
Check Windows Update to see if a fix is available for de program.
Click Home on de menu bar of Help and Support Center, den click Windows Update in de right pane.

If de program is a game that uses DirectX, ensure that you are usin’ de latest version of DirectX. In addition, check de Web site of de manufacturer of your video card or sound card to see if newer drivers are available for eider of them.

Dual Boot Fact

I want to run both Windows 2000 Pro and Windows 98 SE on my computer. When I bought a new hard drive, I installed Windows 2000 on it first. But my subsequent research seems to indicate that I should have installed Windows 98 SE first and den Windows 2000 on a separate partition. How do I remove Windows 2000 from de drive so I can partition it and den install Windows 98 SE first and reinstall Windows 2000?

You don’t have to remove Windows 2000. Start by installin’ Windows 98 SE in a different partition. When you’re done, insert de Windows 2000 CD and reboot to start Windows 2000 setup. On de Welcome to Setup page, press R (for Repair). When you reach de Windows 2000 Repair Options page, press R again.

You’ll den be prompted to select a repair option. Press M for Manual. Then press de Up Arrow until Verify Windows 2000 system files is highlighted; press Enter to clear this selection. Press de Down Arrow to select Continue (perform selected tasks), and den press Enter.

The system will ask wheder you have an emergency repair disk. Press L, indicatin’ it should Locate your existin’ installation. Once it does so, press Enter to complete de repairs. This will establish dual boot for you. (This procedure also works for Windows XP.)

Dont know if this works for Linux though.
