Step 3. Get The Momentum With Search Engines

Lets give our Traffic Snowball a little push!

So now you have completed the design of your website and you have uploaded the content to your server. The next step is to bring traffic to the website by announcing to the world that your site is live through search engine submission. This should be considered the first little push that we are giving your traffic snowball.

With a rapid increase in the number of web sites competing for exposure, the role of online search engines and directories is becoming critical to any websites success. Eighty seven percent (87%) of web site visitors find their chosen site through search engines.

What’s more, almost all of them use just seven - namely AltaVista, Lycos, Excite, LookSmart, Google, Hotbot and above all, Yahoo

This means that if you don’t have a top listing on these engines, thousands of potential clients will never find you.

There are 3 steps involved in search engine submission
1) Optimization of your web site
2) Submission of your site to the search engines and directories
3) Monitoring of your listings

Lets deal first with Optimization

The website needs to be made “search engine-friendly” before it is submitted to the major search engines This is an art in itself and there are specialist companies, such as Traffic Builder Systems, that deal only in Search engine optimization and rank management.

The first step that is undertaken is to determine the keywords that are relevant to your website.

Some people achieve a top 10 placement in a major search engine and get plenty of traffic. Others do the same but get nothing.

Why?

Simple. The first group selected keywords that many people are searching on, and the second did not!

To find the optimum keywords that are going to bring you the most targeted traffic you could use a tool such as Wordtracker

Wordtracker will compile a database of terms that people search for. You enter some keywords, and they tell you how often people search for them, and also tell you how many competing sites use those keywords. Wordtracker helps you find all keyword combinations that bear any relation to your business or service - many of which you might never have considered. You’ll find out how popular these keywords really are. Then for each major search engine, they will show you the chances of making the top 10.

Once you have got the correct keywords together you will need to format them into META TAGS to place into the HTML of your webpages

If you are going to submit your site to the search engines individually it must be sensitized with META tags.

There are three META tags used by the popular search engines. META tags are added to your website’s HTML coding, and do not appear on your visible webpage. These tags are placed within the head portion of your HTML document, usually directly beneath your tag.

1) The “Keyword” META Tag

The “keyword” META tag helps meta capable search engines in indexing your website. It tells the search engine under which search terms your website should come up under.

Here is an example of this tag:
<META NAME=”keywords” content=”widgets, cheap widgets, widgets for sale, john store etc..”>

Within this META tag, use your prioritized list of keywords and commanding combinations. Don’t duplicate your keywords too many times. Each keyword should be separated by a comma, and there should be no spaces. Different search engines allow different numbers of keywords. Make sure all keywords listed in your META tag are related to your site.

If you put unrelated keywords in your keyword META tag, some search engines may penalize you or refuse to list you. Be careful not to put competitors’ company names, product names or trademarked names in your META tags. Some companies have sued because they found their names in the META tags of their competitors.

2) The “Description” META Tag

The “description” META tag helps meta capable search engines to summarize your website.

Here is an example of this tag:
<META NAME=”description” CONTENT=”John’s widget shop has the largest and cheapest selection of widgets”>

Within this tag, use a description of your website and keep the tag length under 200 characters. Some search engines allow longer or shorter descriptions. Put the most important part of your description first, for cases where search engines do not use all of it.

Some search engines extract your website’s summary from the first 250 characters of your webpage, so be sure you include a good opening paragraph on your webpage. Make sure everything in your description is related to your site. If you put unrelated words or phrases or sentences in your description META tag, some search engines may penalize you or refuse to list you.

As discussed above, be careful not to put competitors’ company names, product names or trademarked names in your META tags.

3) The “Robots” META Tag

The “robots” META tag tells meta capable search engines which pages should get indexed, and which pages should not. You may have certain pages which you may not want to show up in the search engines. You may have test pages, private pages created for a particular customer, and so on.

If you have a frames site, you wouldn’t want to index your HTML documents which display within the various frames which make up your page.

The following options are available for this tag: all, none, index, noindex, follow, nofollow.

If you wanted all of your pages indexed, you would use this tag on your main page:
<META NAME=”robots” CONTENT=”all follow”>

It would tell the search engine spider to index your main page, then follow any links it finds on that page, and spider those links.

Use this tag on a page which you don’t want indexed:
<META NAME=”robots” CONTENT=”noindex”>

After entering the META tags into the HTML of your website pages and then uploading to the server, you will then need to proceed to the search engines to submit your website.

Doorway pages

Most people optimize each of their webpages for all of their keywords, and to be submitted to all the major search engines. For less popular keywords this strategy will often suffice. However for competitive keywords it won’t get favorable listings, mainly because when you overly fine tune a webpage to score well for one search engine, it will likely score lower for other search engine. For competitive keywords you should consider using a “multiple entry page” strategy.

This involves using multiple entry pages (also called doorway pages, bridge pages, jump pages and gateway pages), each optimized for a particular keyword and/or search engine. Entry pages act as “front doors” to your website. These special pages are designed to score high in keyword density and relevance.

Each entry pages can be fine tuned for one or a few keywords, and can be fine tuned for a particular search engine. It is not advisable to use the above page naming convention with all search engines, as certain search engines may detect that you are using multiple doorways.

To be safe use names which do not resemble one another: The second step is the submission to the search engines

You have the following options:

1) Submit your site manually to the search engines by visiting each one individually. This can be very time consuming and also there is the problem that every search engine is different in the sense that they each use different logarithms for analyze and ranking the website submission.

2) The submission service will submit your website to many hundreds of search engines and directories on a regular basis. This is usually an automated process, with the drawback being you get no advice on optimization. You may or may not receive reports charting your success.

3) The meta-tag optimisers will take your site and optimize it for a one off fee. They may also offer a service to submit the site once it has been optimized. With this service you have little idea of how successful the service has been long after your money has gone.

4) A small number of companies are taking a Search Engine Rank Management approach. This involves the specialist company taking complete, ongoing control of your search engine marketing needs by optimizing, submitting and monitoring your ranking activity on an ongoing basis.

High search engine ranking is the key to unlocking the true potential of your company’s web site.
Based on our industry leading knowledge of search engine technology, Traffic Builder Systems brings you Traffic Builder, an affordable rank management solution for all web site owners.

Finally, the choice is yours but remember that search engine promotion is fundamental to your success and should be the start of the the initial push to get noticed. Investment in good search engine promotion will pay dividends later.

Designing your Web Pages

This article takes into consideration that you are already running ads on eBay in which you can get your HTML from, or are experienced with HTML. For this reason, we will not go too in depth on how to build a complicated web page, but guide you through getting your first simple web page completed and showing to the public. I do, however, provide some links to some excellent resources.

CoffeeCup HTML

First, you are going to need an HTML editor of some kind. If you don’t have one, we have provided a link below to a program called CoffeeCup HTML. Click on the link and install the software. You will need to find the “Download Now” link next to “The HTML Editor” title.

www.articleautomate.com/coffeecup

Once you have installed your CoffeeCup, run it. A screen similar to this will open:

console

We will quickly go over how you can make your home page:

1. Click “File,” then “New”.
2. Select “Blank HTML File,” and click “Open”.
3. Between the “

” and “” tags, type, “Hi! Welcome to my web site!”.
4. Click “File,” then “Save As”.
5. Navigate to “c:article”.
6. Type “index.html” in the “File Name” textbox, the click “Save”.

Note: You will lose the existing “index.html” file unless you rename it.

7. Overwrite any existing date in this directory.
8. Open up you web browser and enter your “yourname.no-ip.com” address in to the address bar.

What just happened? Lets hope you get your new welcome page. It would seem that you have just completed setting up your web server and creating its default page. Now all you have to do is place your article in its appropriate directory, in this case the “Widgets” directory, and create a link to it in your home page.

Setting Up A Simple Web Server

You don’t need to set up a web server in order to automate the delivery of your information products. This section is for people who don’t want to pay a cent for hosting their downloadable information products and web sites. Hosting your own web pages gives you much more hard drive space and easier control of your HTML documents. This section will also go over typical issues when setting up a web server and a solution for each issue.

Internet Service Providers (ISP’s)

Here is a little information on most Internet Service Providers (ISP’s). If you’re on a basic ADSL or Cable package, then chances are you have some restrictions on your Internet account. Common limitations are certain port blockages, and IP address assignment process. First, let’s look at ports.

Ports

Ports are used for communication on the Internet. There are a lot of them, and knowing what they all do is not important for this document. What is important is that your ISP may be blocking you from accepting requests on port 80, which is the HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) port. HTTP allows you to surf the Internet. If you look at the address bar on your browser, you will always see “HTTP”. This means that you can access the Internet on an outgoing basis, but you can’t accept incoming HTTP connections. Why? Think of your ISP as doing you a favor. By blocking port 80, they are eliminating the chance of your computer from ACCEPTING viruses, spyware, and all sorts of other malicious activity. The problem is, this also blocks your ability of accepting other HTTP (port 80) requests, therefore preventing you from being a web server. To find out if your port 80 is blocked, you will either have to go to your ISP’s web site and find your license agreement, or call their technical support line and ask. Either way, this problem is easily solved in the next few pages. We will now move on to the next issue, IP Address Assignment.

IP Address Assignment

An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique identifier that gives your computer a “home” on the World Wide Web. Most basic Internet packages, including all dial-up connections, work on a dynamic IP address assignment process. The problem this causes is that if your IP address is always changing, how is anyone supposed to find your “home”? It would be like you lived in your house for 5 hours, and then left. Even your trusty mailman would get confused! One solution is to call your ISP and get your Internet package upgraded to a business plan, which will change your IP from dynamic to static, but at an extra cost. The other is to use a great free tool that we will explain in the next section.

To find out your IP address, click “Start”, then Run, type “Command”, click “OK”. When the black window, known as the “Command” window opens, type “ipconfig /all”. This will yield your current IP configuration. If you see a line that says “Lease Expires”, and it’s soon, then you definitely have a dynamic IP. Don’t worry if it expires soon, you’ll get a new one as soon as it does. You will also notice a 4-octet number, seperated by 3 periods next to its appropriate description, “IP Address”. This is your IP address.

No-IP.com

Who is No-IP?

These guys are great!

Before we get into it, lets define what a domain name is. A domain name is a alphanumeric representation of your IP address. In other words, any “www” name you enter into your address bar actually reflects an IP address. If you open up your command window again and type “ping www.articleautomate.com”, you will notice there is an IP
address in square brackets next to my domain name in the results.

Now, let’s move on.

First, No-IP will give you a web name and you don’t even have to pay for it! That means you don’t have to purchase a domain name. Any “www” address you see in your address bar is a domain name. When you use No-IP.com, you will receive a domain name that looks like www.yourname.no-ip.com. Notice the “no-IP” part. Since No-IP.com is a free service, they add that to your “www” name. This is fine because the purpose of your site is to serve your articles to your customers through your eBay and Paypal “Instant Purchase” sales, although you can also serve web pages. Your domain name also remains easy to remember.

Second, your dynamic IP address issue simply disappears. No-IP.com has developed a free piece of software that you download from them and install on your PC. What it does is monitor your IP address, and when your IP changes, it tells the No- IP.com server, which updates your “www” name to reflect your new IP address.

No-IP.com Registration

Now that you understand what No-IP is, you are ready to go out and get registered. Click the link below, find their “Sign-up Free” link, and fill in the blanks.

www.articleautomate.com/no-ip

Once you have fully registered, you will receive a confirmation email. Follow the directions on the email. Next, log into your No-IP.com account, and click on the “Add” link under the “Hosts/Redirects” header.

The “Hostname” textbox is where you will enter your “www” name, and the dropdown is the No-IP.com extension of your choice.

If your ISP does not block port 80 then you don’t need to do any port redirecting. Just click the “Create Host” button at the bottom of the page.

If your ISP does block port 80 then click on the “Port 80 Redirect”. A new page will load, but will look almost the same. For the “Port”, enter 8000. Click the “Create Port Redirect” at the bottom of the page.

Registration is complete – on to the software!

Click on the “Downloads” tab at the top and then click “Windows” on the left column. Click on the No-IP DUC v x.x.x link. (x.x.x because the version is always changing)

Follow the wizard to install the program. Once installation is complete, you will be prompted for the email address and password you entered during registration. After entering this, the console will open. Turn to the next page to see what your console will look like.

console

Notice the smiley face. That means the No-IP.com server has been updated with your current IP address.

Now that you have your domain name set up, you have to start hosting your pages! The next section will introduce you to an excellent program called Abyss Web Server by Aprelium.

Abyss Web Server

What is Abyss?

Simply put, Abyss is a free personal web server for Windows, MacOS X, Linux, and FreeBSD. Abyss is just a web server, and does not allow for any FTP protocol. You can access your console remotely to update directory and user settings, but you can’t upload any files unless you are at the computer running the web server.

Installation

Click on the following link:
www.articleautomate.com\abyss

Find the “Download” link under the “Software Resources” header near the bottom of the page. Click on the “Download Abyss Web Server X1 for Windows” link and install the software.

Once the installation is complete, you will be asked for a username and a password. This identifier will then be your login to your web server. You will also see the Abyss icon in your system tray. After entering your login info, you will be prompted again for a username and password. You will always be prompted for your login information with this screen whenever you start your console.

You should get a console that looks something like this:

console

Do not change the “Server Root”. This is where your web server runs.

Change your “Documents Path” to the path you wish to host your pages from. For this book, I will use “c:\article”.

If your “Port” isn’t already set to 8000, do that now.

Any changes that you make will require a server restart, which is nothing more than clicking a button when you are prompted.

If you ever need to access your console again, right click on the Abyss icon in the system tray, and select “Show Console”. Please take into consideration that we have only skimmed the surface with Abyss Web Server and that there is much more to learn about it, such as setting up directory and user permissions, and your access statistics.

We will now move on to a “suggested” method of setting up your web server directory.

Directory Structure

Before you start creating HTML and putting your article online, you may want to look at how you want your web server’s file system to be set up. I have found that it is easier to maintain when you have the following setup: For this example, I have set my “Documents Path” to c:\article. To create a directory, read “Directory Creation”.

Take a look at the image below:

console

You will notice that we are in the article directory, and there is an index.htm file. This file will be your website’s home page. Next, you will see an images folder and a widgets folder. You will store all of your website’s images in the image folder. The widgets folder will contain another “index.html” file, which will contain the download link to your article.

Directory Creation

To create your “article” directory:

1. Right-Click the “Start” menu.
2. Click on “Explore”.
3. Navigate through the tree until you find “C:” and click on it.
4. In the right window pane, right-click on some white-space, and select “New”, then “Folder”.
5. Name your folder “article”.

Follow this process to create your “images” and “widgets” directory. We will look at creating your “index.html” file in Section 4 or this article.

Test Your Server

Next, test your server. Run the “ipconfig” command, and write down your IP address. Open a new web browser and in the address bar type: yo.ur.ip.addy:8000/

If you get the Paypal button you created and tested earlier, you have correctly installed Abyss. Notice the “8000”. This directs the website to your port 8000. If you decide to run your server on a different port, you will need to change this figure to be the same.

Now try your No-IP domain name “http://yourname.no-ip.com”. Notice that your address bar changes to your IP address?

If you don’t want the address to change to your IP, then you will have to log into your No-IP account and edit your Host settings from “Port 80 Redirect” to “DNS Host,” but the difference will be that your domain will look like www.yourname.no-ip.com:8000.

Troubleshooting

If you experience problems, such as “error 404 - Page cannot be found”, then try some of these suggestions:

1. Make sure there is an “index.html” file in your “c:\article” directory.
2. Make sure your “Documents Path” is set to “c:\article”
3. Make sure you see the following icons in your system tray (bottom right):
4. Make sure your web address DOES NOT contain a “WWW” in it. It should follow this exact protocol: yourname.no-ip.com.

If all none of these suggesstions work, the following link:
www.articleautomate.com/serverhelp

Set Up A Http Server Running From Computer

1. We are goin’ to use a program called hfs i like de beta version (2). You will need to download this program.
Go to randomshitfromtimmy.no-ip.org very easily.

1) All you have to do is go to www.no-ip.com
2) Make a username
3) Log in
4) Click add on de left hand side
5) Make a hostname (mine is randomshitfromtimmy)
6) Click port 80 redirect
7) Enter your ip in de ip address field
8) And choose de port you wish to forward (this is eider 80 or de oder one that you chose)
9) Click add redirect.

Now you have a fully workin’ hfs system. It runs of you bandwidth so if lots of people are downloadin’ from you, will find your net goes slowly so remeber to set limits.

Hide Workstation In Network Neighborhood

Don’t want your XP computer to show up in de network browse list (Network Neighborhood/My Network Places) to oder users on your network? One way to accomplish that is to disable file sharin’. To do this :

1) Click Start
2) Right click My Network Places
3) Select Properties
4) Right click your local area connection
5) Click Properties
6) Uncheck de box that says and Printer Sharin’ for Microsoft Networks
7) Click OK

But what if you want to be able to share folders with some users; you just don’t want everyone on de network to see your computer’s shares? There’s a way:

1) Click Start
2) select Run.
3) In de Run box, type net config server /hidden:yes
4) Click OK.

Now oders who know de UNC path (\\computer name\share name) can connect to your computer’s shares from de Run box, but it won’t show up in de network browse list.

How To Get Windows Passwords

This works wheder its windows 2000 or windows xp or windows xp SP1 or SP2 or windows server 2003. This works even if syskey encryption is employed.

If it is FAT filesystem

Just copy de sam file like stated in de first post to an empty floppy disk and take it home. I’ll tell you what to do with it later. DON’T DELETE THE ORIGINAL SAM FILE. Just remove its attributes. The sam file is a file called SAM with no extension. YOU MUST ALSO GET a file called SYSTEM which is in de same folder as SAM. Both files have no extensions.

If it is NTFS

You have to download a program called NTFSPro. It allows you to read from ntfs drives. The themo version allows read only. The full version is read-write. You use de program to create an unbootable disk (so u will still need anoder bootable disk and an empty disk) that has de required files to access NTFS.

Use de boot disk to get into dos, den use de disks created with ntfspro to be able to access de filesystem, den copy de SAM and SYSTEM files to anoder empty disk to take home.

AT HOME: You have to get a program called SAMInside. It doesn’t matter if it is themo version. SAMInside will open de SAM file and extract all de user account information and deir passwords, includin’ administrator. SAMInside will ask for de SYSTEM file too if de computer you took de SAM file from has syskey enabled. Syskey encrypts de SAM file. SAMInside uses SYSTEM file to decrypt de SAM file. After SAMInside finishes, you still see user accounts and hashes beside them. The hashes are de encoded passwords. Use SAMInside to export de accounts and deir hashes as a pwdump file into anoder program, called LophtCrack. It is currently in version 5, it is named LC5. The previous version, LC4 is just as good. You need de full or cracked version of de program. LC5 uses a brute force method by tryin’ all possible combinations of letters numbers, and unprintable characters to find de correct password from de hashes in de pwdump file imported into it from SAMInside. This process of tryin’ all passwords might take 5 minutes if de password is easy, up to a year if de password is lon’ and hard (really really hard). LC5 howver, unlike LC4, is almost 100 times faster. Both can be configured to try dictionary and common words before usin’ all possible combinations of everythin’. Once de correct password is found, it will display de passwords in clear beside each account, includin’ administrator.

I use this method so many times. I’ve compromised de whole school computer infrastructure. LC4 usually took between 1 second and 10 minutes to find de passwords because dey were common words found in any en’lish dictionary. I haven’t used LC5 yet.

Programs needed:
SAMInside (doesn’t matter which version or if themo)
LC4 or LC5 (lophtcrack)( must be full version)
NTFSPro (doesn’t matter if themo)
Any bootdisk maker

How To Find A Remote IP

Method 1

To view someone’s IP address when dey send you hotmail email do this:
1) Click “Options” on de upper right side of de page.
2) On de left side of de page, Click “Mail”
3) Click “Mail Display Settin’s”
4) Under “Message Headers” select “Full” or “Advanced”
5) Click ok

Method 2

Register a dydns account and install de IP pointer, so each time you pin’ de host name you registered

For example:

You register de host name myhost.dydns.com, den you keep a little software runnin’ on de target host. The little software will keep updatin’ your IP to dydns.com server. So at your pc just start cmd, and pin’ myhost.dydns.com, it will give you de most updated IP address.

Method 3

Simply type in nc -vvv -l -p 80 on your box, which will set it to listen in verbose mode on port 80. Then give them a link to your IP address (for example: 111.111.111.11) and tell them to type it in deir browser. The browser should resolve de address as well as append port 80 automatically. Just make sure that your friend is not very computer literate.

Method 4

Just download a very simple server such as this one and install it on your comp. Then run it and give your IP to de person you want and tell them to connect to it through a browser. Your server will log deir connection and you will get deir IP.

Oder Ways

-www.imchaos.com and make a “spy poll” to put in ur profile, this will tell u de IP of anybody who answers ur poll
-originalicons.com dere is a page for doin it (i dont like it, but it works)
-or irc

Download And Upload Files From Email

This post will teach you how to send big files to email.

First of all you need to have a big mail box. Here are de one which we can use :

• Gmail (Google mail)
• Storage space - 1GB
• Maximum attachment size - 10MB
www.gmail.com

• Walla! mail (de best)
• Storage space - 1GB
• Maximum attachment size - 7MB
www.walla.com

• Spymac Mail
• Storage space - 1GB
• Maximum attachment size - 10MB
www.spymac.com

• Unitethemailsystems
• Storage space - 3GB
• Maximum attachment size - 10MB
www.unitethemailsystems.com

• Xasamail
• Storage space - 2GB
• Maximum attachment size - 10MB
www.xasamail.com

• Omnilect Mail
• Storage space - 2GB
• Maximum attachment size - 7MB
www.omnilect.com

Then download de software called peer to mail:
dw.com.com/redir?pid=10351095&merid=72949&mfgid=72949&lop=link&edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3002-2196_4-10351095&ontId=2196&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.peer2mail.com%2FP2MSetup.exe

Official website:
www.peer2mail.com

Next step : Configurate de software

Go in settin’s > SMTP server settin’ and give a smtp address that you know:

Ex: smtp.laposte.net
user : HULK
pass: ******

Once configurated, you won’t need to touch it for de rest of your upload. This is a critical step, if you are experimentin’ any problem of connection this is where u need to have a look. It is possible that temporarily, your internet provider won’t allow you to use oder smtp addresses. So use:

ie:
smtp.free.fr
smtp.wanadoo.fr

If you are experimentin’ any problem, it is better to de-activate your antivirus (de scannin’ mail option)

1 - Click on Split/Send File.
2 - Click on de icon (choose a file to send…..).
3 - Select de archive that you want to upload.
4 - Type de address of your account (email).
5 - It determines de size of de parts that de archive will be divided (take a look at de max size used by your mail). I advise you to put a size of 6MB.
6 - It determines de type of sendin’. “Send via smtp server”

After all that, press OK. After all de parts have been sent, go to your account (email) and confirm, den you have to brin’ de Encrypted password. Always give de followin’ information to de users. Follow de example below:

Email: GMail
Login: zezão
Password: |/kjds42d4sd24 |

Remmember:
Only Encrypted Password, never sends your true password

Be careful: Never post your coordinates without havin’ previously verified de content in de mailbox

Sometimes peer2mail tells you that evrythin’ is sent but dere is a possibility that nothin’ was sent. You want to download games and movies with a good speed (thats what we all here for!). So here is an easy way to download large files from mailbox.

Anoder example:

First download peer to mail

Official website:
www.peer2mail.com

Open it and go to de browse tab

Then take de coordinates of de film or game you want to download. In this tutorial i’ll use de film mulan :

mail: walla.com
login: dragon_mushu
pass: <(/++EiJPy)>

You noticed that de mail used is walla.com. So go to www.walla.com with de adress bar or with de prerecorded website.

Login with:
“dragon_mushu” & “<(/++EiJPy)>“

Go into de inbox den click on de icon. After you’ve retrieved all de segment click on “download”. If everithin’ is fine, de movie will merge automatically and you won’t need to care about de segments. If you look for a place to share, download movies or games usin’ peer2mail, just go to de peer2mail’s website, www.peer2mail.com. Then go to de forum and click on “peer2mail related websites”.

Here is de direct link (may not work)
www.peer2mail.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=13

Here you are now. You should be an expert on peer2mail!

Peer2Mail is de first software that let you store and share files on any web-mail account. If you have a web mail account with large storage space, you can use P2M to store files on it. Web-mail providers such as Gmail (Google Mail), Walla!, Yahoo and more, provide storage space that ranges from 100MB to 3GB. P2M splits de file you want to share/store zips and encrypts it. P2M den sends de file segments one by one to your account. Once P2M uploaded all file segments, you can download them and use P2M to merge de segments back to de original file.

Sendin’ a File

In order to send a file to an email account, Peer2Mail needs to split it into segments. Web-mail providers limit de size of an email attachment usually to a nominal 10Megs, but due to de size increase resultin’ from transport encodin’s, de limit works out to be a few MB less (Usually 7MB). Use de followin’ dialog to prepare de file before sendin’:

File Name - The files you want to send. You can use de Browse button to select a sin’le or multiple files.

Mail To - The recipients who will receive de file (Web-mail account). When usin’ Direct Send you may enter only one email address. If you are sendin’ via MAPI den you can enter as many recipients as you like; Use de Recipients button to easily add email address separated by semi colon (icon_wink.gif.

Optional Encryption Password - P2M automatically encrypts each segment to protect you privacy, however you can set a password (key) for de encryption to maximize de privacy. You will need this password when you merge de segments back.

Segment Size - P2M splits de file into segments. Here you can determine de segment size, most of de web-mail providers limit de attachment size to a nominal 10Megs, but due to de size increase resultin’ from transport encodin’s, de limit works out to be a few MB less (Usually 7MB). It is recommended to test your web-mail provider for de size of an attachment it can receive.

Send Method

To Direct Send - P2M has a built in SMTP component that sends de segments directly to de web-mail providers. You don’t need to enter your ISP details in order to use P2M. If you are usin’ this feature please make sure you enter a value in de ‘From Email Address’ because some web-mail providers reject email messages where dere is no ‘From’ address. You can even enter a fake mail address.

To Send Via MAPI - P2M can send de segments usin’ MAPI (Usually your outlook client). When you use this option P2M will split de files and move de sendin’ responsibility to Outlook. Note that it will use your ISP SMTP server and details to send de files. You may enter as many recipients as you wish when usin’ this option.

To Send Via SMTP Server - Send de segments usin’ your ISP SMTP Server. If you are usin’ this feature please make sure you enter a value in de ‘From Email Address’ because some web-mail providers reject email messages where dere is no ‘From’ address. You can even enter a fake mail address. You may enter as many recipients as you wish when usin’ this option.

From Email Address - This is de source address of de mail. This address doesn’t have to be valid, although sometimes web-mail providers reject emails where de domain part of de address isn’t valid.

Once you are done, click on de Ok button. You can now choose if you want P2M to send all de segments or only specific few by checkin’/un-checkin’ de checkboxes. Once you are ready, click on de Send button. It may take a few hours to complete de operation dependin’ on de file size and your internet connection.

Note: If you are usin’ an antivirus program that scans outgoin’ mail, it is recommended to disable this feature since it takes a lon’ time for each segment to be scanned.

Plain Transfer

In case you don’t want Peer2Mail to split, zip and encrypt your files, and just want to send de files “as is” den you can use Plain Transfer. This option isn’t secure. P2M just sends de file as an email attachment and some web mail providers might even block it.

Choose Plain Transfer from de drop down button. Once you are done fillin’ de details as described above, click on de Ok button. Once you are ready, click on de Send button.

Note: If you are usin’ an antivirus program that scans outgoin’ mail, it is recommended to disable this feature since it takes a lon’ time for each segment to be scanned.

Downloadin’ de Segments

P2M includes a built in browser so you can easily log into your web-mail account. Before you can merge de segments you need to download them. It is important that you will save all de segments into de same folder. The first segment name ends with de P2M extension and de rest follow with a serial number 001…00x.

Auto Download

Peer2Mail can automatically list and download files from web-mail accounts. Currently P2M supports auto-download from Gmail, Walla, Yahoo, Spymac, Unitethemailsystems, Xasamail, Gawab, Hriders and Omnilect. To use this feature, login to your account and click on de green download button (Image). P2M will den list de segments (may take a few minutes) and at any time you can tell P2M what segment to download by clickin’ on de checkboxes that appear next to them. Click on de Download button to begin downloadin’ de selected segments.

If you checked de Auto Merge checkbox den Peer2Mail will automatically merge de segments once de download process is done

The listin’ process can be a bit slow since P2M scans de mail account and gaders information about each attachment. Sometimes a server doesn’t reply to a request so P2M might skip it. To fix that, once de listin’ process is over, click on de refresh button and P2M will re-index only de segments it didn’t already list.
P2M scans for segments only in de inbox for Yahoo, Walla, Spymac, Unitethemailsystems, Xasamailand, Gawab, Hriders, Omnilect, and on all folders with Gmail.

Mergin’ de Segments

Once you completed downloadin’ all de segments, use P2M to merge it back to de original file. Choose de folder you want de file to be saved in and click on de Merge button. The Merge dialog:

P2M Files - use de Browse button to select de first segment of de file you wish to merge. The first segment extension is P2M.

Decryption Password - If you used a password when you sent de file to your account, you must enter it now in order to merge it back. Incorrect password will result in a failure to merge de segments.

Download Movies From mIRC

SETTING UP mIRC

First of all you need to download mIRC from /http://www.mirc.com, this program will let you connect to de server and channel to download movies. Once installed run mIRC, and you will be presented with de mIRC options. The first thin’ you will see is de “Connect” options. Set de options as follows:

IRC Network: Select “Criten” from de dropdown list.
Full Name: Enter what you feel comfortable with.

This option sets mIRC to automaticly resume any failed sends you may get instead of overwritin’ them.

Continuin’ in de “DCC” section, go down to “Folders”. In de “DCC Ignore:” box select from de drop-down list “Disabled”, den untick de “Turn ignore back on in:” box.

mIRC is now setup correctly to download movies from TMD! Hit “OK” on de bottom of de Options window and move on to de next part.

CONNECTING TO #TMD-MOVIEZ

In de upper left hand corner of mIRC you will see de “Connect” button in de tool bar, click it to connet to irc.Criten.net. Once it has connected (be patient it can take a while to finally connect on some days), a window will pop-up, this is de mIRC Channels list. On de right side of de window click de “Add” button. Anoder window will pop up, set it as follows:

Channel: Type in “#TMD-Moviez” (without de quotes)
Password: Leave blank.
Description: Just type in “TMD Moviez” or somethin’ of de sort.
Networks: Click de “Add” button and from de drop-down list select “Criten”, den click “OK”.

If you wish mIRC to automaticly connect to this channel once connected to de server, check de “Join channel on connect” box in de options. You may also wish to add de channel “#TMD” (Our chat channel) by repeatin’ dese steps.

A new window will appear with a bunch of text scrollin’ by, if you see this, than you did everythin’ correctly! You are now in #TMD-Moviez! Move on to de next section for de fun part.

FINDING AND DOWNLOADING FILES

The thin’s you see scrollin’ are ads and searches mainly. It is de ads that you may want to watch for. They consist of info about de server like this:

Only an example server. Not a real one!

[2:29am] <TMD-Maveric> File Server Online Triggers:Ã½/ctcp TMD-Maveric !Maveric’s Moviez! Min:Ã½6.4 Kbs Sends:Ã½2/2 Queues:Ã½10/10 Accessed:Ã½3295 times Online:Ã½0/4 RCPS:Ã½42.8 Kbs by kuki Served:Ã½95.6G in 785 files Current BW:Ã½41 Kbs AQT:Ã½1hr 15mins Servin’:Ã½279 files MOTD: -= :: (Ã»`Ã.Ã©Ã©.->All de newest from distro!!<-.Ã©Ã©.ÃÃ») :: =- Ã¹I-n-v-i-s-i-o-nÃ¹

Really de only thin' you need to know to get started is how to connect to de file server and get a file.

The trigger is what you type into de channel to connect to de server. The trigger above would be "/ctcp TMD-Maveric !Maveric's Moviez!" (without de quotes) as noted by de "Triggers:½ â" You always type what is inbetween de ½â. You will know you are connected when a window pops up with:

Servin' YourNickname
Waitin' for acknowledgement...
DCC Chat connection established

Then you will see alot of text fly by which you can read if you want, but it is not needed. You will be left with somethin' like this "[]", that is de root directory of de server. To view de files in that directory you type "dir". At that point de directory contents will be show like this:

[2:40am] <TMD-Maveric> dir
[2:40am] <TMD-Maveric> [*.*]
[2:40am] <TMD-Maveric> DVD RIPS
[2:40am] <TMD-Maveric> MOVIEZ
[2:41am] <TMD-Maveric> [tmd]csi.miami.s1.ep01.golden.parachute.(ftv).tvrip.(1of1).avi 121 mb
[2:41am] <TMD-Maveric> [tmd]csi.miami.s1.ep02.golden.losin'.face.(ftv).tvrip.(1of1).avi 115 mb
[2:40am] <TMD-Maveric> End of list.

The ones in all caps are directories, and de oders are files signified by de de name and size of de file. If you want to go to a directory you need to type "cd <directory name>". Then you need to type "dir" again to see de contents. You should see somethin' like this:

[2:44am] <TMD-Maveric>cd moviez
[2:44am] <TMD-Maveric> [moviez]
[2:44am] <TMD-Maveric> dir
[2:44am] <TMD-Maveric> [moviez*.*]
[2:44am] <TMD-Maveric> ..
[2:44am] <TMD-Maveric> A RUMOR OF ANGELS
[2:44am] <TMD-Maveric> ALI G INDAHOUSE
[2:44am] <TMD-Maveric> AVENGING ANGELO
[2:44am] <TMD-Maveric> BALLISTIC - ECKS VS SEVER
[2:44am] <TMD-Maveric> BARBERSHOP
[2:44am] <TMD-Maveric> BARBERSHOP (UNCUT)
[2:45am] <TMD-Maveric> [tmd]nailed.(evil).scr.(1of2).avi 169 mb
[2:45am] <TMD-Maveric> [tmd]nailed.(evil).scr.(2of2).avi 59.3 mb
[2:45am] <TMD-Maveric> End of list.

Now to get a file you need to type "get <filename>". At that point you will eider be sent de file, placed in queue for de file, of told that dere isn't a free spot in de queue for you. Lookin' like this:

[2:50am] <TMD-Maveric> get [tmd]nailed.(evil).scr.(1of2).avi
[2:50am] <TMD-Maveric> Sendin' [tmd]nailed.(evil).scr.(1of2).avi ½169MBâ.
OR [2:50am] <TMD-Maveric>The file has been queued in slot 1
OR [2:50am] <TMD-Maveric> Sorry but de Maximum Allowed Queues of 10 has been reached. Please try again later.

The window may say somethin' like "idle connection closin' in 30 seconds", when you are finished eider type "exit" or let de connection close. You will still get your download!

TIP: To quicky enter de filename you should copy and paste it. mIRC automaticly copys what ever text is selected to de clipboard. So select de filename (when you let go of de mouse button de selection will disappear) den use Ctrl+V (or right click and choose paste) to paste it.

A few oder thin’s you should know is how to go back a directory (”cd ..”), how to see what files are sendin’ (”sends”), and how to see who is in de queue (”queues”).

Now to find de movie you are lookin’ for…. As you may have seen in de chat screen you can search for what file you are lookin’ for. This is done by usin’ “@find <moviename>”. So if you were lookin’ for “The Rin’” den you would type “@find de rin’”. If any matchin’ files were found new windows will open with de results. You will see dese flashin’ red in de top bar. Clickin’ on them will display de results for each server de file was found in, lookin’ a bit like this:

<Nickname-of-server> [@Find Results] -=SysReset 2.50=-
<Nickname-of-server> Found [2] files on Trigger [/ctcp Nickname-of-server !TRIGGER!] - Queues: [20/25]
<Nickname-of-server> File: [The Rin’[tmd]de.rin’.(ftf).ts.(2of2).avi] - Size [149.7MB]
<Nickname-of-server> File: [The Rin’[tmd]de.rin’.(ftf).ts.(1of2).avi] - Size [130.1MB]
<Nickname-of-server> End of @Find.

The thin’s to pay attention to is de trigger and de “Queues”. The “queues” tell you how many people are in line to get a file from this server. [20/25] means dere are 20 people in line out of an available 25 slots. The fewer amout of people in de queue de shorter amount of time you have to wait before downloadin’. Once you find a good server, type in de trigger that is show and you will be connected to de file server.

TIP: To close all de windows that opened as a result of de @find type “/close -m” in de channel.

COMMON ERRORS AND PROBLEMS

Error: “You need to identify a registered nick to join…”
Solution: To register: type in (without quotes) “/msg NickServ REGISTER password youremailaddress”. That will register your current nickname usin’ de password and email specified. To identify type in (without quotes) “/msg NickServ IDENTIFY password” where password is de password you registered with.

Problem: “The video doesn’t play right!”
Solution: Be sure to download and install de TMD Codec. If after you have intalled de codec de video still doesn’t work, make sure you download de entire file, de file sizes are listed on our MoveBot.

Error: “No more connections allowed in your connection class”
Solution: This just means de server is full. There is nothin’ to do but wait till it connects. Patience is a virtue!

Problem: “I have been banned from de channel, what do I do?”
Solution: Most bans only last a minute, so try to join de channel later. If you still can not join, den private message de OP that banned you in #TMD. To send a private message type “/msg <username> <message>” in de channel substitutin’ <username> with de username of de person that banned you, and <message> with de message you want to send.

Problem: “I downloaded a movie but de quality is bad!”
Solution: There is nothin’ you can do about it! TMD encodes movies that were supplied by a “rippin’” group. We encoded those files to make them more compact for easy downloadin’, while keepin’ de best quality we can. Some movies we get are bad quality to begin with, and we do what we can with what we have to work with.

Problem: “How do I know what new movies have been released?”
Solution: We have a bot in #TMD-Moviez and #TMD, simply type “!newmoviez” into de channel for de last 10 releases. Type “!moviebot” for all of de bots commands.

It all can be quite confusin’ at first glance, but after a week or two it seems simple! Any oder questions you may have can probably be answered by goin’ to #TMD. I hope this helps everybody.
