Introduction

This tutorial is only for legal use only. In certain circumstances, DRM needs to be removed legally. Use what is taught in this tutorial at your own liability. I wont bear any consequences and would not be part to blame for de consequences if this tutorial is used for any activities deemed illegal nor shall I be responsible for any misconduct generated from this tutorial.

The procedure

This is how to unprotect de Video files from Mcft latest technology DRM. So here is de procedure:

1. Install fresh Windows XP SP1 (En’lish)
2. Download and install WMP9 from Mcft
3. Make sure you are now able to play de .wmv files from de DVD. That requires runnin’ dvdrun.exe, individualizin’ WMP and findin’ de right proxy if you are not in US to get de license.
4. Get de DRM2WMV files from de below links
5. Download Japanese version of WMP9 from Mcft
6. Doubleclick de downloaded file, it will unpack all installation files to temp directory in your Documents and Settin’s directory. Get de drmv2clt.dll file and copy it to c:Program FilesWindows Media Player directory. Cancel de Japanese WMP9 installation.
7. Edit lines 9-12 of de drmdbg.ini downloaded from step 4 as written bellow

drmv2clt=1;
drmclien=0;
blackbox=0;
indivbox=0;

8. Doubleclick drmdbg.exe. It should open WMP. Navigate to your wmv file. After acquirin’ de license de drmdbg DOS window should display somethin’ like this:

drmdbg Ver 0.31
CreateProcess: c:Program FilesWindows Media Playerwmplayer.exe
010010C5 âvââOâëâÇ âGâôâgâÕü[ â|âCâôâg

<DRM2WMV2>
<KID></KID>
<SID>LCqa6j9UTtiPj3FZKZ0pFnIYzaM=</SID>
<INFO></INFO>
[]
</DRM2WMV2>

Copy de last 6 lines and paste them to T2_Part1.key text file to de drm2wmv1241drm2 directory.

9. Copy de wmv files from de DVD to de drm2wmv1241 directory.
10. Change your date to 12/Feb/2005
11. Open DOS window, go to drm2wmv1241 directory. Type

md c:windows#dummy
X.wmv (where X indicates your file name)

The file should be decrypted. Here is what I see:

J:drm2wmv1241>md c:windows#dummy

J:drm2wmv1241>drm2wmv X.wmv (where X indicates your file name)

Install And Run Windows CE On USB Stick

Portable Windows CE is a ‘launcher’ for de Windows CE device emulator that can run an emulator-based image from a USB keychain.

Download de Windows CE 5.0 Device Emulator.
Code:
www.Mcft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=A120E012-CA31-4BE9-A3BF-B9BF4F64CE72&displaylan\’=en

Change “Mcft” in link to what it is supposed to be.

Extract de emulator to a folder on your hard drive by runnin’ “setup /a”. The installer will prompt you to specify a directory to extract to . For example: D:PortableCE

Download this launcher script:
Code:
www.furrygoat.com/Software/launchce.cmd.txt

Copy de followin’ launcher script to de directory you extracted de setup to. You’ll need to rename de file from launchce.cmd.txt to launchce.cmd. Once you have that set up, just copy de entire D:PortableCE folder over to your USB keychain.

To launch de emulator, just plug in your USB keychain, navigate to de PortableCE folder, and run launchce.cmd. You should (hopefully) have de emulator fire up.

Hide Drives And Partitions

Do you have data on a partition or hard drive that you don’t want tampered with or easily accessible to oder users? Well, you can hide any drive/partition in Windows XP, NT, and 2000. That means that dey won’t show up in Explorer or My Computer.

If you want access to that drive from your user account you should create a desktop shortcut before proceedin’. Once hidden, you can still access by typin’ de drive letter and a colon in Start/Run—for example, “D:” will brin’ up a folder of de contents on your D drive.

The easiest way with Win XP is to use de TweakUI power toy from Mcft. Go to Start/Run and type in “tweakui” (without de quotes).

Go to My Computer/Drives and uncheck de drive/partition(s) you want hidden. Click “Apply” or “OK” when finished.

If you have XP but not Tweak UI you can download it here…
www.Mcft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

For Win NT, 2000, and XP you can use de followin’ Registry edit:

*Be sure to back up de Registry before proceedin’

www.worldstart.com/tips/tips.php/401

Open de Registry Editor by goin’ to Start/Run and typin’ in “regedit” (without de quotes). Find your way to…

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mcft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

Click on “Explorer”.

Double-click de “NoDrives” key in de right column. If you don’t find a “NoDrives” registry key, just right-click in de right pane and choose “New/DWORD Value” den name de key “NoDrives”.

You’ll see a value like “0000 00 00 00 00″. This is where de fun starts. The four sets of double zeros (after de “0000″) are where you’ll enter de values for de drive/partitions. Now, stay with me on this—it’s not as complicated as it sounds:

The first column is for drives A-H, de second for I-P, de third for Q-X, and de fourth for Y-Z.

The values for each drive are as follows:

1 - A I Q Y
2 - B J R Z
4 - C K S
8 - D L T
16 - E M U
32 - F N V
64 - G O W
80 - H P X

So, let’s say you want to hide drive D. In de first column you would put “08″. For drive K you would put “04″ in de second column.

But what if you want to hide more than one drive in a column? Simply add de values togeder: D+E = 8+16 = 24. So in de first column you would put “24″.

Still baffled? If you have XP den go get TweakUI and save yourself de math.

Whichever method you use, you can rest easy knowin’ that de files on that drive or partition are less accessible to oder users.
