Get attention for the cause.
Request participation. Be explicit about what you need or want them to contribute, but assure your audience that any contribution is welcome.
Mention the benefits of involvement and success.
Include testimonials from people who have contributed to the cause or from recipients of the money or services.
Predict a successful campaign/project.
Show excitement. Avoid sounding as though this is “business as usual” or that your own participation is just “part of the job.”

Share the evidence of your successful fund raiser/project.
Express appreciation to all those who have contributed in every way—especially those behind the scenes.
Remind them of the benefits/uses/outcome of the contributions.
