Although this game is unlike any other you’re likely to have seen on the Mac, it would be wrong to call it innovative. You see, the premise for this game can already be found on the PlayStation 2, under the guise of Sony’s Eye Toy.

Although we know it’s not necessarily fair to compare a Mac game to its PlayStation equivalent, in this instance we will because it’s clear that this sort of game is far better suited to being on a large television set than displayed on a computer screen. We would also point out that Sony’s version is far better thanks to a great collection of exceptionally funny games, such as its hilarious Kung-Fu fighting mode.

Still, there’s no point in getting a console just because it’s got a better version of a game. Although it’s not as good as its PlayStation equivalent, ToySight is still fantastic fun and is totally unlike any experience you’re likely to get on a Mac. It may not be a good enough reason for going out and buying an iSight, but if you already own one (or a digital camcorder) then ToySight will make a fine addition to your software collection.
